*Recap*: “I was so lost in the song I didn’t notice someone coming until I heard a bang coming from the seats. I immediately stopped playing and ran from the auditorium using the back stage door, running through the crowded hallways losing whoever was listening to me. I just hoped that whoever that was hadn’t recognized me since I really didn’t want anyone to know that I could sing and just how messed up I was inside.”
Chapter 2
Ivy
I got in the first bathroom I could find and cried for a while.
I was just sitting in the toilet to try and get the redness and blotchiness out of my face so I wouldn’t get asked what was wrong with me, I didn’t feel like explain it to anyone, when I heard Allies voice through the stall door.
“Ivy, are you in here? Seriously I’ve looked everywhere for you since you jumped from the table as if your butt was on fire, only the auditorium left now...” She trailed off and I released a big breath. Thank god she hadn’t looked there, but then again it would have been better if she was the one that heard me sing.
“Hey Allie, I’m here.” I replied quickly thinking of an excuse for my disappearance from cafeteria and appearance in a bathroom.
“What are you doing here? We got worried... You left so quickly and didn’t return for the rest of lunch.” She replied as I got out of the stall.
“I just really had to pee, seriously a second longer and I would have made a new lake right there in the cafeteria” I informed her chuckling falsely.
"Really?" She inquired suspiciously. "Because that had to be the biggest pee ever for the time it took you to relieve it." She added.
“Are you taking notes on how long it takes me to pee now?” I said trying to diffuse the subject.
“Yep! That is definitely my new hobby.” She answered with heavy sarcasm. “Anyways let’s go bell is about to ring for next class” She added. And I felt a wave of relief wash over me that she had let the subject drop.
“I have to go to my locker before class to get my drawing stuff.” I announced.
“Sure, I’ll meet you in class?” She asked.
“Yep, I’ll meet you there.” I replied making my way to my locker.
While I’m busy getting my supplies and books I feel a pair of arms closing around my waist from behind. I turned around and came face to face with Will. He just gives me one of his best brotherly looks and grabs me in a bear hug that instantly makes me feel a bit better.
“How are you doing sis?” He mumbled gently. It always seems as if he can tell how I’m feeling. I think it’s because we’re twins and he understands me better than anyone else I know.
“I’m fine.” I lied.
“No you’re not, you always think you can lie to me but you forget that I know you better than you know yourself.” He replied while gently rubbing my back.
“It doesn’t really matter anyways.” I said pulling away from his embrace. “I got to get to class.” And with that said I started a fast walk to my drawing class.
I passed the door just as the bell rang and with a warning look from Miss Harrington I get in my usual seat beside Allie. This was a class I had with Emma and Taylor too. Basically all my girl friends had it and its sum there were mostly girls here.
“Wow, you’re cutting it close.” She whispered as she leaned close to me. “What took you so long?” She inquired.
“I ran into Will by my locker we were just talking and kind of lost track of time” I answered honestly. I looked over at her and her reaction only added to my growing suspicion of her having a crush on Will. Her cheeks flushed slightly, her eyes glazed over with a dreamy look and her mouth was slightly parted. “Hey Allie, are you alright? You look a little flushed…” I asked in a teasing tone.
