Chapter 3

Levi's POV

The day had dragged on painfully slow, Eren was in most of my classes for the day and part of me was hoping the sets he had been put in were permanent for the rest of the term. Not that I would admit that to anyone, especially not four eyes who had actually dragged him into our lives. Which has put him in danger. I wasn't too keen on him hanging around with us and being involved with us, our group was made of, well, ghouls. And before he sat with us at lunch with that Armin kid I made everyone aware of the rules. Thankfully everyone actually behaved and were very friendly with Eren, a few of the girls flirted, pointing out his great build and cute face. I did admit to myself he had a great build and a cute face and I did stare every so often to admire his appearance more, and not just as a dish. Hanji had made him and Armin laugh and at one point milk came out of the blondes nose. He was quite shy and awkward but Petra and Historia made him feel better and less uncomfortable and I swear eyebrows has a thing for the boy, his eyes didn't leave him once and he looked like he was gonna murder Historia and Petra for hugging him.

I was relieved when the final bell went and I could leave. I hate French, even though I am French myself and can speak the language perfectly, the lesson made me want to jump off a bridge or something. It wouldn't hurt me in anyway but you know it was worth a shot. I stretched as I walked towards the stairs and I heard a familiar voice call out my name "Hey Levi wait up!" I turned around slowly mid stretch and saw Eren running my way. As he ran I saw the majority of our class staring at him like he had a death wish or he was crazy. At the start of my high school life I had made it my goal to be avoided and come off as unfriendly and not interested. This had made it impossible for anyone to talk to me and because of that no one bothered me and some were terrified. I didn't know why. But I had achieved my Year 7 goal.
He smiled at me brightly as he caught his breath and I raised an eyebrow in question "What's up?" I casually ask him, everyone carries on staring in disbelief as they walk past us and I roll my eyes.
"Not much I just wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out sometime after school. Hanji gave me your number and stuff but I wanted to make sure that was okay and..." Ah shit. Here we go. I'm going in. I nod slowly and grumble "I wish she had asked my permission first before giving it to you but yeah, it's fine. Just text me whenever you want to hang out" Eren's smile got wider and his eyes glimmered with excitement "Thanks Levi" I shrug and mumble "No problem" I start to walk down the empty staircase and Eren follows me enthusiastically, I tuck my hands into my hoodie pockets and look back at him as he smiles.
"Where do you live?" I ask as we leave the language block and head for the front gate. He was silent as he tried to remember his address and I smirk slightly, he was new to England so he wouldn't really know where he lived but it was humorous to watch him think. His eyebrows furrowed together in concentration and he nibbled on his lip lightly. I shook my head and mumbled "it doesn't matter Eren don't worry. Just text me your address when you get home" Eren smiled and nodded. He pulled his bag up over his shoulder to stop it from slipping and he looked around the street. I stood next to him and mumbled "Are you getting a ride home?" Eren nodded as he continued to look around the street.
"Want me to stay with you till your ride gets here?" Eren's eyes suddenly light up and he nods. I nod back and he grins, he leans back onto the school fence before pushing himself up, he sits on the fence contently and I frown at him. This is an even bigger pain in the neck. Eren chuckles and holds his hand out "Want a hand up?" I shake my head and attempt to climb it with pure determination. As I try to get my legs up I struggle for a few minutes and then with Eren's unwanted help and his fits of laughter I manage to sit on the fence with him. If I had been alone or with Hanji and Erwin, I could have used my ability to jump. Ghouls have the ability to jump higher than an average human, they can also run faster and are much much stronger, but since he was here I couldn't do shit. I frown and stare off at the sky and Eren chuckles again "Don't worry about it. I won't tell anyone" I roll my eyes and grumble "Thanks" I wasn't really bothered if he told anyone. I was just annoyed because it reminded me how short I am and thats something I wanted to forget. He chuckles again and looks down at his phone. I watch as his smile slowly turns into a frown and I wait for him to look up. He bit his lip again and mumbled "My dad's gonna be late picking me up" I sigh and nod. He looks up as he stuffs his phone back into his pocket and smiles "You don't have to stay" I shrug and look up at the sky as the sun starts to set, it was only 3:50pm but since it was winter the night came early. "Nah its okay. Besides it's not safe to be alone" Eren seemed a little shocked at my reply but he smiled at me and nodded. "Thanks" "No problem"

"So why did you move from Germany?" We were both still sat on the fence waiting for his dad to pick him up and so far we had discussed our interests. Eren was actually really fucking cute. Now it wasn't a secret that I was gay, in fact everyone in my group knew. They never let it go when they first found out, they came out with all the gay puns. Yep I just made a pun. But I was lucky that all my friends and my mother accepted it. It was one thing I was most thankful for.
Eren smiled and looked up at the cloudy sky, our breath was visible now that the winter cold had become more bitter.
"My father is a doctor and he's a valued doctor. One of the best doctors in Germany. The NHS wanted him to come over and help out with the hospitals an stuff. They offered him a permenant place and better pay than what he was already getting, they even paid for out flight. We were very greatful and my father took them up on the offer" I nodded, I was impressed, really impressed. It explained why his father was taking so long to pick him up, he was most likely really busy at the hospital. I sigh and push myself off the fence, I land with a soft thud and I call up "Come down. I'm gonna walk you home" It was silent for as few minutes but Eren soon jumps down and stares at me confused "But why? I don't know my adress-" "Text your dad and ask him for it. If he asks why then tell him a friend is gonna walk you home".
Eren stares for a few minutes before slowly nodding, I stuff my hands in my pockets and bury my face into my coat whilst I wait. After a few minutes of silence he suddenly reads out his address. I nod and mumble "You live round the corner from me. Come on brat, stay where I can see you" Eren chuckles lightly "I'm not a child Levi"
"Yeah I know but it's not safe. And technically you are a child, brat" Eren sighs and walks by my side. He stays quiet as we walk under the illuminated streets and I look towards him every so often. I sigh and check my phone for the time and note the multiple missed calls from my mother and Hanji. I roll my eyes slightly, I'm gonna have to apologise later and make up an excuse. Eren leans forward and raises an eyebrow "What's up?" I shake my head and stuff my phone back into my pockets.
"Nothing. Just a few missed calls don't worry" Eren's smile turns into guilt and he peers up at me apologetically. I roll my eyes "It's fine don't worry. I can look after myself. Besides I didn't mind waiting with you" Eren stays quiet and I sigh.
He was silent for the whole journey to his home, I didn't really know what to say to him. It was frustrating me and bugging the shit out of me. Why are humans so touchy, I will never understand. When we arrived at his place he turned around and smiled "Thanks for everything Levi" I nod and reply "No problem. And brat, don't worry okay?" He nods and grins at me. I wave as I walk towards his gate and he waves back.
"See you tomorrow!" I hear his front door close and I sigh. I smile slightly as I walk home, this kid, this brat was human. And I had to develop a crush. Fuck my life.
