02; Big Miley Takes High School

Miles crossed his arms and stared at his aunt and uncle. There he'd been, making his bed all nice and neatly because he just couldn't stand even the thought of an unorganized room, when they barged in and told him today was going to be the first day back at school for him and Allison.

"I'm sorry, did you just say you want me to go to school?" Miles raised his eyebrows, his lips tugging upwards, but their wasn't the vaguest hint of humor in his endlessly dark chocolate eyes. His arms remained crossed firmly over his broad chest, his towering figure more then enough to make almost anyone back down from their proposal when it mixed with his unwavering tone. But, of course, his aunt and uncle weren't exactly a conventional couple.

"Miles, if your going to be living in our house, under our rules, for a couple of weeks, you're going to have to go to school. We're not asking you to try for a Nobel prize, we just want you to finish your high school education." Victoria Argent firmly told her nephew. She might not have looked like much more then a standard mother, but her eyes were stern and Miles knew he really shouldn't be arguing with a woman in the Argent family.

"Don't think that I don't appreciate your hospitality and all, but I haven't gone to an actual school in two years, there's no point in me starting back up now. What's so important about a high school degree in the Argent line of work, anyways?" Miles scoffed. He thought the argument would end there, and so he moved in the direction of his bathroom, but Chris swiftly stepped in his way.

"You don't seem to understand, we're not asking you to go to school, we're telling you. We've already enrolled you, all you have to do now is show up and act like a regular high school junior. You can do that, right?" Chris looked at the young hunter with a cold expression.

Somehow, Miles could actually feel his argument slipping through his fingertips under the glares of his two family members. He was suddenly yearning to be alone again back in France. "I didn't come here to get a good education," Miles looked back and forth between his aunt and uncle, trying with no avail to find out if one of them were starting to see his side of things. "I came here on a mission, to avenge Kate's death. Remember?"

Chris and Victoria gave each other a look that Miles couldn't quite read, but he knew it couldn't have meant anything good. He felt his arms slip and fall to his sides, his eyes suddenly darting around desperately to figure out what was going on. He didn't like not knowing things, especially when it came to his family. It had something to do with his never ending drive to prove himself as a real part of the family. His life ambition was evident to say the least, and he knew that they probably weren't above using that against him.

Chris let out a long sigh, finally looking up at the precarious hunter in front of him. "You need a mission so badly, then go to school to look after Allison. She's your cousin, she's having a hard time right now, and it's your job."
