Happy New Year was ringing round the club, everyone was hugging and cheering. I shoved who ever was on top of me off, and wiped my lips until I realised who had kissed me.
"Luke?"
----------
My eyes darted round the club until it joined with Alec's her hopeful eyes glinting once she saw Luke and I together. My eyes flickered back over to Luke, who stood with his awkwardly lanky legs and he scratched his neck.
"You shouldn't be here." I started, biting my bottom lip so hard that blood trickled out. He stepped forward, reaching out trying to grab hold of my hand. I shrugged him off.
"Don't think you can play all lovey dovey with me, shouldn't you be fucking Aleisha or something?" I snarled, tripping over thin air. My head pounding, the rush of adrenaline pulsed through my veins due to the alcohol.
"I wanted to see you." He muttered, eyes casted towards the floor. Oh his voice was a joy to hear. All I wanted was to snuggle in bed, having him stroke my hair and sing me to sleep but all of those dreams had be smashed once he dated Aleisha.
"That's sweet, maybe next time you could bring Aleisha and we could have a movie night." I spat, shooting a dirty glance at Alec before rushing out of the heaving club.
The cold nights air refreshing my sticky body, and instead of the bass, the sound of car horns and drunken shouting filled my ears. There would be now point in getting a taxi home, traffic was lined down the road. I tugged my coat closer to my body and set off down the road, my heels beginning to hurt my sore feet.
"Amber!" Luke yelled, catching up to me quickly due to his long legs. I ignored him, my eyes set straight ahead.
"Will you just listen to me?" He cried, throwing his hands up in the air. I stopped harshly and turned towards him.
"No you listen to me, don't try and worm your way back into my life. YOU! Were the one who decided to mess around with Aleisha. Not me." I snapped, he backed up, shocked at my sudden outrage. I slipped my heels off my feet, holding them in my right hand and storming off again down the road, soon followed by Luke.
"Please just listen to me!" He cried, putting his hands up to try and stop me walking. I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Why should I listen to you Luke Robert Hemmings? You broke my heart and then stepped on it! Everything you did! Everything you said! Was it all a lie?" My voice cracked, too ashamed to look off, I pushed his arms once more and walked off.
"No not a lie..." His cracked voice, he ran in front of me once more. His baby blue eyes widened, with a pleading look.
"Look Luke, I need space from you, I won't forgive you that quickly or even if I forgive you at all! You hurt me Luke, you hurt me more than you can believe but you stand here thinking I'l forgive you like that!" I clicked my fingers, the cold air sent a shiver through my spine. Luke pursed his lips, his hands clutched together in front of him. He nodded, a small smile graced my lips and I nodded.
"Please, just let me walk you home so I know you get back alright?" I looked up at the dark night sky, weighing the consequences in my head. I huffed in defeat.
"Fine, but ONLY walk me home." He nodded sternly, starting to walk down the pavement which lead the short walk back to my apartment.
*10 minutes later*
I slipped the key into the lock, feeling Luke's presence behind me, my hand shaking slightly as I felt his soft humming of a song that had just popped into his head. I closed my eyes, images flashed through my head as I remembered all the things Luke and I used to do together.
At least the door creaked open and I turned around, looking down at my feet.
"Thank you for walking me home Luke." I mumbled, not letting myself look into his beautiful blue eyes He hummed in response and I turned back around, slipping through the crack in the door. Then a hand grabbed mine and I was pulled back in front of Luke.
"That's not going to help me love you even more Luke!" He hummed in response.
"I just wanted to say that I want you to know that I am going to try my best to make you forgive me. Alright?" I looked up at him, my hazel eyes joining with his and weirdly, the same feeling came back. The feeling that everything in the world had stopped just for us. That the universe was trying to gravitate us back together. I nodded, not trusting myself to talk in case of screwing up and making myself more foolish in front of him.
"Goodnight Amber." He grabbed my hand and pulled it up to his face, kissing the back of my hand slowly, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Night night Luke." I smiled slightly before releasing myself from his grip and sliding back through my open door, closing it behind me. With my back against the door, I slowly slid down and put my head in my hands.
