This Is It? A Zutara Fanfic

Hey guys! Don't own avatar, if I did, I would totally have Zutara. Like, seriously. Love ya all and hope ya like the fanfiction!!! :) This is taken place before The Search and after The Promise. So, this is like my way of The Search. I do not own The Search, or The Promise. All in all, I do not own Avatar The Last Airbender or its characters. Onto the story! :)

One day. That's all I ask for. To find out where my mother is. Where did she go? How can she live? It's all a big blur to me. After making this world a place for all benders equal, I've decided to search for my mother. Oh great, a visitor to make my life better.

"Someone has come to see you Zuko!" I heard Aang's voice in the distance.

"I'll be right there, tell them." I call back to Aang.

I slowly reach my palace, after my long walk around it pondering about life. My, I'm starting to turn out to be Iroh. Anyways, I go inside, sit on my throne and wait for the visitor.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were sent to a mental hospital after the incident!" I suddenly shout as I recognize my visitor.

"I knew you expected me, as usual Zu-Zu. You don't have to hide it in. Isn't it obvious that you wonder where mom is?" The visitor calmly says.

"Azula, I am looking for our mother. And, I need your help. Try to work with me here." I say.

"And, what makes you think that I will actually help you after sending me to jail? Hm? ZuZu, I expected better from you." She replies.

"Well, I don't have time for any of your nonsense! Are you going to help me or not? Do you want to find our mom or not?" I clearly announce.

"Fine, I'm in. But you're going to have to get me out of this horrid mental hospital first." She replies back.

I know that she is my only help now. Even being that manipulative sister she is, she is the only one who can lead me to our mother. I go back upstairs to my room, exhausted and pondering once again, about life.

"Zuko, I know times are hard right now for you. But you have to remember that I'm always there for you ok?" Mai walks in, calmly.

"I know, there's just a lot going on in my mind. And i think I have come to this, Mai. This may only be me, and I'm sorry. I need some time alone. With the Gaang. Sorry, but I have to break up with you." I quickly but caringly say.

"Really Zuko? I'm trying to comfort you here and you don't respect me for that? Wow, and to think that i actually thought you cared! You can take some time alone, but don't expect me to be there if you are hurt!" Mai shouts. She leaves the room with stomping feet.

"I just need to talk to the Gaang. We need to find my mother." I think as I go to my bed and sleep.
