Liam

The snow week goes by quickly. Sophie becomes more and more restless each day, and I want but don't want to ask. I'm afraid of the reaction.

We haven't done much. Dylan hasn't come over, but he has talked to me. It was over the phone, nothing too bad.

D: remember my brother?

L: the one who went to jail for idk what?

D: yea so he's getting out soon and so he wanted to throw a party tmr wanna go?

L: sure

And so now we are invited to a party at Dylan's house. I haven't told Sophie yet. I'm kind of scared to. The night of the party, I finally get the guts to tell her. I can tell you now, it didn't go well.

"Sophie?"

"Yeah?" She looks up from her instagram scrolling. "What's up?"

"So... there's a party at Dylan's tonight, and so he wanted us to come... will you please please please please please please please please come?"

She looks at me with wide eyes. She seems to be thinking What the fuck Liam? I have a tantrum (somewhat of one) when I see him and you want me to do this? Fuck this shit *throws arms into the air* Fuck no!

I know I have an imaginitive mind.

Sophie looks at me. The look, and I'm going to be honest here, looks very done. I don't think she wants to go.

"Liam, thank you but no thank you. I would really would rather stay home. I'll call Maddie or Lori or like Anita or something if you don't want me to be alone."

"Sophie... that's not it. I just want you to be happy. I think maybe a party could help or be fun!"

She looks at me with those green eyes. I'm pretty sure it's a straight up no.

"Yeah really no thanks"

And she returns to her ceremonious Instagram scrolling.

That's a true no from a girl, I have to tell you.

I went on to get ready for the party. Sophie was still downstairs when I came back, but this time she was watching NCIS.

Good show tastes, Sophie.

"Have fun by yourself Soph"

"Have fun by yourself Liam. Try not to die and all of that shizzle"

And so that's what I did all night. Tried not to die at a party I did not want to go to.
