It's my first day in boot camp and I'm honestly not nervous at all. All I have to do is do my routine without falling over and I'll be fine. I have packed all my stuff. I'm in the 11-18 girls age group. Hopefully, I won't have competition. My mum drives me to the large building where it was taking place. I say goodbye to Gina and enter. I have to sign myself in and wait in a large waiting room. There must be like at least a hundred people there. Suddenly I'm so scared. What if I don't make it into the next round. And they're eliminating 20 people tonight! That means five from every group!

I take a deep breath and sit down. I'm relieved when I get a text from Ashley.

"How's it going?" He says.

"Nothing much, just freaking out!".

"Relax, these people don't know what they're up against."

"Ok, if you're sure."

"Super sure!"

"Ok ttyl"

"Ciao."

I put my phone back in my bag. I sit quietly, trying to relax when a girl sits next to me. She has blonde wavy hair, and she looks really confindent.

"Hi!" She says to me. Well, someone's a bit loud!

"Hi." I say, trying not to urge the converation on any further.

The girl eyes me approvingly.

"Hey, your Perri's girlfriend right?" She says.

Great. Now people know who I am.

"Yes..." I say.

The girl huffs as if she doesn't think our relationship is a good idea.

"So...what kind of dance do you do?" She says turning to me on her chair.

Why can't this girl juts leave me alone?

"New style mostly...you?"

The girl looks suprised.

"Oh me? I do ballet." she says. My costume is in my bag."

Oh. I examine her shirt. It says "Royal Dance Academy" in big letters.

"I'm seventeen..." she says.

"Me too" I say. Great. Here's my competition, sitting right next to me.

"So what's he like?" She says.

"Excuse me?" I say.

"Perri. What's he like."

"Umm..he's like a boyfriend..." I say. Okay, I am really annoyed now.

The girl just talks and talks and talks. I don't even get a chance to reply to Perri's messages before we are all called in to another room.

We are put into our age groups. I scan everyone around me. Some look my age, and some are younger.

Most people don't say goodbye to their parents until they are put into their groups.

To my annoyance, the girl catches up with me again.

"What's your name?" She says.

"Amber." I say. She snaps her fingers as if she has heard this before. Obviously.

"I'm Cassie." she says.

A smart looking lady enters the room and gets our attention.

"Okay ladies! Welcome to boot camp!" She beams. "I'm Tina Parks, your host. First, we need to see you dance, and then yoru mentors, will try and help you improve your routine."

The mentors are standing in the corner of the room. People are introducing themselves to them, so I decide to too. That's when I look closely at one of them. Curly hair, olive skin, big brown eyes- OMG It's Perri.
