Chapter 6 Part 4

Felicity gasps.

"What the...?" She whispers. "Why is Perri with another girl?"

"Is there something you're not telling me about?" Veronica says, giving me a look.

I sigh.

"I kissed Mitch, okay?" I tell both of them.

"What?" They both say, with hushed voices.

I look at them. They're not going to be happy about this.

Veronica swears loudly. This makes Perri and 'the girl' both turn around. We all duck, and they don't notice us. They walk out of the store. When the close is clear, Fel helps me up.

"I didn't think he'd move on..." I say. "That fast..."

"I still can't believe you kissed Mitch!" Veronica shouts. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"She didn't tell me, either!" Fel shouts.

I want to cry, but I also want to get home first.

"Let's go..." I say, trying to hold back tears.

As we walk to the car park, Fel puts her arm around me.

"Its okay..." She says. "That might not be his girlfriend..."

Perri's girlfriend? I've always been Perri's girlfriend.

"This whole thing..." Veronica says. "It kind of sucks..."

"Yeah, I know" I say. "What am I supposed to do now?"

"You can still do your dance..." Fel says. "I mean, its worth saying sorry...even though he's not into you anymore."

I nod. I just want to win this thing. Give Freddie some of the money...and Diversity also. I'm tired of feeling sorry for people...and myself.

When I get home my heart aches and I start to cry while Fel and Veronica try and comfort me.

"At least he's not rubbing it in your face..." Veronica says.

Sure...that makes me feel a whole lot better.

"I mean...he's Perri Kiely. Thousands of girls want him. You can't expect him to be heart broken..."Fel says.

She's right- I was just a waste of time. I need him way more than he seems to need me. He doesn't love me anymore- now I'm just back to being a fan, but this time I'm obessesed with him.

"I'm calling Mitch..." Veronica says.

I don't deny. I actually really need to see Mitch. Maybe he knows something about the girl...

"Why are you doing that?" Fel says. "Amber's a mess..."

"Thanks..." I say, sarcastically.

"Just call him..." Fel says, reluctantly.

"I know you really want to see him..." Veronica says to Fel, dialing his number on her phone.

Fel rolls her eyes.

"Don't worry Amber..." She says, sitting down next to me.

Gina enters the living room.

"What's wrong?" She says, seeing my face.

"Nothing, Gina..." I say.

"Is it...let me guess...Perri?" She says.

"Yes...its Perri..." I say.

"Amber, I talked to him today..." Gina says, sitting down next to me.

"You did?" We all chorus.
