I have an interview with Big Boy today,I love interviews with him. He funny as fuck,when Ci has interviews with him I just sit back and watch the entertainment. I'm halfway done with my album too,I'm gonna be in the studio before I go to the interview. Ci has been with me all day and I was not complaining,I nod my head to beat as the producer replayed it,I finally finished writing the song and it was time to record it.
"Aight I got the lyrics,let's go" I say
The producer nods his head and as soon as I go in the booth and out the headphones on,he restarts the beat. I really like the meaning behind this song and the lyrics.
"Now I came up,I got a lil something,tryna turn a lil bit to a lot,like when lovers turning cocaine to pot,I went through the soda straight out the box,hoping when this shit drop it will rock,hoping when my shit drop it will rock,cause ain't shit changed even since my nigga Pac got banged,some of the players switched up but it's the same old game,I see no change so I guess I gotta be that change,I'm just outchea doing what I gotta do,showing young niggas how to make it through,cause I had to get it out the muscle,I can never lose the hustle,cause I represent the struggle,a change,guess now you can see there's a better way,so when we die we'll make it to a better place,guess it's looking like this shit will change,I'm hoping I can be that change,we could be that change" I sing
I finish up the song and the producer plays it back. I look over at Ci and she gives me smile and nods her head. I say goodbye to him and we go to interview,when we get there we go straight to the room and Ci sits next to me.
"August Alsina's up in here man and he brought his lovely fiancé Ciara with him,how y'all doing?" He asks
"We good ya heard me,we planning the wedding,working on my album,working on her clothing line,doing us" I say
"That's what's up,I was just talking to him and I didn't know he was this taller than me,wow,I was like man I didn't know you was this tall,he was like big homie I didn't know you was this small" He says
"Man doc just told me the same thing,he was like man last time I seen you,5 months ago and you done grew" I laugh
"Did you play basketball?" He asks
"I used to when I was smaller but I don't know,I grew out of it" I say
"Man how tall are you?" He asks
"Me,I think I'm 6'1" I say
"If you 6'1 that mean I got a little situation going on here" He laughs
I laugh too and clear my throat a lil.
"This thing called life is the name of the album,why?" He asks
"We all working towards something,we on this journey and we working towards whatever it is we're working towards,I would hope it would be to be a better version of ourselves,life has literally taken me places,places that I could've never imagined,so I felt like I had to document this,like I have to,I can't just talk about nonsense,the life that God has given me or the journey or the path he has given me,I have to document this and let the world be apart of it,like I said at this point it's not about me,these situations that I go through,I feel like I could save a life by it,or just something that could help somebody" I say
"That really good man,I feel you on that one" He says
"Who's the better cook,you of Ciara?" He asks
"Well I don't wanna brag but umm" I say while popping my collar
"Don't go there August" Ci laughs
