Chapter 1

  *Amber's POV*

  Almost 6 years that I have lived in Vancouver. I barely have enough money but I'm trying to get enough to pay rent and take care of my 5 year old son, Liam. My best friend, Lily, moved here to help me. My son doesn't know his father and I haven't seen his father since we met and basically made Liam. Lily worked as a hair dresser while I watched Liam and then I went to work at a restaurant when she gets back.

  "I'm home." Lily said.

  "Hi." I said from the kitchen, looking at the bills of money I owe.

  "Bills?" she asked, hanging up her jacket.

  "Yep. He wants to get a dog, but we can't afford a dog. Not to mention that we don't have the space for a dog." I complained to her.

  "How much sleep have you gotten?"

  "Sleep? What's sleep. Is it good for you? Can I buy it?" I asked.

  "Dude, you need to get some sleep. I'll take tomorrow off so you can sleep."

  "Thank you. I should probably be heading out now. Well, after I say goodnight to Liam." I told her.

  I walked into his room to find him playing with his Transformers.

  "Hey Liam."

  "Hi mommy." he said, getting out of bed to give me a hug.

  "I have to go out soon. Auntie Lily is going to watch you."

  "Okay. What's for dinner?" he asked.

  "Macaroni and cheese. I'll tell Lily to start on it right now. Goodnight sweetie." I said kissing him on the head.

  "Night night mommy." he said.

  Before I left, I asked Lily if she could make his dinner. She said she would, so I grabbed my jacket and left. When I got to the restaurant, the parking lot was full. Again. So I had to park down the block.    I checked the time. I was almost late.

I ran across the street as it started to rain. A car honked at me.   "Sorry!" I yelled as I got into the building. I got my uniform on and start went to see if there was a table for me to start on. 

*Josh's POV*

  Matt and I sat on the couch watching T.V. Well, Matt and his girlfriend Lauren. She was nice but always got on my nerves a lot. About 10 minutes later someone knocked on the door.  

"It's open." I said.  

Ian and his girlfriend, Emma, came through the door.   

She held his hand tightly and said "Tell them."  

"Okay. We are getting married." Ian told us. Emma shot out her hand to show us a huge diamond ring.  

"And to celebrate, we are taking all of you out to dinner." Emma told us.  

"Thanks and congratulations you guys!" Lauren said hugging them.  

I got into Ian's car. At the moment, couples were pissing me off. I mean I'm happy for them. All of them. Even Matt and Lauren but, I haven't had a solid relationship in 6 years and I haven't slept with someone since the girl in Calgary almost 6 years ago.    As we got to the restaurant, some girl ran right in front of the car. Ian honked at her. She shouted something at the car but, I couldn't hear her.  

When we got into the restaurant, I saw the cutest blonde. I got up to say hi. She looked right at me and almost slapped me.
