Chapter 1

My alarm woke me up. I hate Mondays ugh. Why do I have to go to school?? To leave this place and to be free! True.
I stood up and walked to my bathroom and got ready for school. I looked at my watch finding out I was late and my parents must be awake. I walked down just to hear my parents scream and then the front door opening and being closed again. When I entered the kitchen I already heard my father screaming. "Where the hell have you been! Didn't I tell you to make breakfast you whore!!" Suddenly I felt a sharp pain on my cheek. He just slapped me but not for the first time. "TALK TO ME YOU USELESS BRAT!", he screamed hitting me again and again. He then stopped and told me that I should stand up and go to school and better not tell anyone about this.

I walked to school and arrived after 10 minutes. I stood next to the gate and asked myself why I am doing this for the hundreth time today. You want to get away. Be free. So put on your smile and get this over you.
You are right. I can do this!

I went to my locker when someone suddenly wrapped his arms on my waist and scared my to death. I turned around just to see my best friend Andrew laugh and next to him Anne, who was literally laying on the floor.
"Yeah that was really funny haha", I said sarcasticly. Both stopped laughing and put on their puppy eyes. "Oh come on. You know it was just a joke. Don't be mad." Andrew said wrapping an arm around my shoulder which caused my heart to skip a beat and a light blush formed on my cheeks. Anne,who was now standing next to me, smiled and wiggled her eyebrows. She knew that I had a crush on Andrew and not because he looks like a model but also because of how he treats me and always brings me to smile.
"Did you hear about the new student who will be here on wednesday?" Anne said. "No not really." I said. "That's because you never listen to what I say, idiot" Anne chuckled.
"Hey first of all I am not an idiot and second I don't really care cause if the teacher doesn't chose me to show the new student around it is not my concern" I answered. " First you are an big idiot and second you were chosen to show him around" Andrew said imitating my voice.
I stopped and stand there with shock written all over my face. Andrew came to me closed my mouth and started giggling after seeing my reaction. "You can do that I believe in you. No one could show the new student around like you." I smiled after he said that and hugged him and whispered "Thank you". "Always" he answered.

After that conversation Anne and I walked to the park and sat on a bench. " So.... you and Andrew?" I blushed at her words but then looked up. " I have to tell you something but don't freak out. Silver told me that Andrew told her that he fell in love with a girl which happens to be one of his best friends." My heart skipped a beat wishing that I was that girl but the next words just broke my hope. "This girl is me Mary. I am really sorry."
My world shuttered into pieces. "Please say something!" she begged. My next word surprised me" Do you love him?" " To be honest yes I do. We spent so much time together when you were sick and yeah it kind of happened." "I want you to be happy with him." After saying that I could slap myself. Wait!!! What?? Are you crazy?
The voice in my head said. "Mary think about it again don't say that. I-". I cut her off " I am sure. I know how he looks at you. I want you to go out with him. I won't stay in the way. If you are happy so am I." "Are you sure?" "Yes" Noooo... "Really are you fine with that cause if not I won't-" I didn't let her finish her sentence cause I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her. "I am fine trust me. Be happy with him." I stood up and said good bye. Walking home I thought about how stupid I was and went home not knowing what was going to happen tomorrow.
