"One more day of waiting then off to the Elven witch." Frost said as Lily hoped down the stairs after being told she should rest at least for the morning. She didn't listen this time, got dressed and went down for breakfast.
"One more day of warmth and home cooked meals." Lily said giving a disappointed frown. "I guess I better enjoy today outside in the sun." She smiled and skipped off to get some food.
"Any reason for you to be out in the sun is a good one for you then is it?" Frost asked laughing at her up and down mood swings she seemed to have often.
"You bet, I am going outside today and soaking up all the sun I can." Lily said sitting in her spot across from Treep who looked concerned hearing that she was going outside today.
"I think I better take a good look at you before you go anywhere. I want to make sure you are completely healed before leaving the village." She said staring down her nose at Lily.
"Can we do that after we eat though, I am so hungry. I don't know why but every morning I feel like I haven't eaten for a month. It's weird." Lily said piling food onto her plate.
"Maybe you're not getting the nutrients your body needs." Foren said reaching for the water to pour in his cup.
"Well I haven't had any meat for a few days, not even fish. I might be lacking iron, without it I also get sleepy fast. Or it could be that with eating mostly veggies and fruits I need to eat more through the day." Lily said then put food in her mouth, a smaller amount than the day before because of the men being at the table.
"I remember from my grandfather's journal saying that humans do eat more food to sustain them than Elves do. Perhaps we need to discuss how much food you normally eat in a day so you don't go hungry on the trek." Foren said.
"Great idea, but I don't want to really look like I eat too much." Lily said and noticed she was already finished her food and wanted more, but didn't want to feel like a pig.
"You cannot lie about how much food you need or you will get sick or worse." Foren said looking sternly at Lily.
"Okay, fine." She said and helped herself to more food. She might as well get use to eating what she needed in front of them now because she would be eating more when hiking everyday. "Do you want to know now or after breakfast?" She asked eating slower.
"We can discuss it after we eat. I am curious about why you call the meals different things though, instead of just a meal to eat." Foren asked with a happy tone.
"Well breakfast used to be the morning meal that would break your nights fast from eating. Hence break fast. I don't know about lunch, dinner or supper. I know that some people call the noon meal lunch or dinner depending on how your parents called it. And supper is the last meal in the evening. I really don't know the origins of much I guess I learned it and used it without thinking about why." Lily said playing with her food a bit before eating a bite.
"Interesting. I have learned a lot from you already, even if you think you don't know much." Foren said smiling at her.
"Thanks." She said smiling back.
Foren took Lily for a walk after breakfast to discuss her eating habits and how much food they needed to bring. This made her embarrassed, but she made sure to tell him the truth. She did not want to starve when she needed the extra energy. They took the rest of the morning gathering all the food and packing it for their trek.
"Wow I hope I can carry all this extra weight." Frost said teasing Lily after they made sure to put in a lot more nuts and some more dried meat.
"Haha so nice of you to tease me, I am not a big eater just so you know. You should see my one friend eat, she once ate a whole pizza, half a cake and a bottle of pop." Lily said then laughed doubling over as Frost pulled is eyebrows together looking as if he was thinking way to hard about what she meant.
