Unexpected

Chapter 1

I'm Lauren and my best friend Ava also happens to be my cousin. We're both 19 and have applied to local colleges but haven't heard from any. We have an apartment outside of Pittsburgh, we share a light blue VW Beetle, and we both are crazy about One Direction. My favorite is Harry and Ava's favorite is Liam. Of course, we know that we'll never meet them but it's fun to think about. That was until we somehow managed to get VIP backstage passes and floor tickets to their show in Pittsburgh. We get to meet them and hang out with them along with about 25 other fans before the show. Then we get to see their sound check and finally, we see the concert from the floor seats.

I woke up at 6:50 - I was late - and got dressed in my running clothes and quickly pulled up my hair into a ponytail. When I got to the kitchen in our small apartment, Ava was waiting for me. "I'm sorry! I slept in." I said. "It's fine!" answered Ava with a smile. "Let's go!"

Once we got back from our morning run, I started frying some bacon and put 2 pieces of bread into the toaster. I also cracked 2 eggs into a pan and put the lid on it. When I heard the water turn off in the bathroom, I headed to the bathroom to get a quick shower now that Ava was done. We ate breakfast when I was finished with my shower and then we headed to our rooms to pick out our outfits.

"Hey Lauren, come help me pick out my outfit." I heard Ava say from her room across the hall.

"Coming." I replied.

"Should I wear this or this?" Ava asked, holding up two different shirts.

"Neither. You should wear this." I said, holding up a loose fitting crop top with a British flag on it.

"Ok I wasn't sure if that was too...themed?" Ava said.

"No, it depends on what you wear with. Hold on, I'll be right back!" I said, leaving Ava's room.

I came back with a black skater-style skirt.

"That will be SO cute!" Ava squealed.

"And wear your Vans. It'll complete your 'edgy but cute look'." I told her.

"Ok, time for your outfit!' Ava said, pushing passed me to my room.

"I was thinking about wearing this but I'm not sure." I said, holding up my aqua high-low dress.

"That will be perfect! And you should wear these with it!" Ava answered, holding up my gold studded bracelet and infinity necklace.

"Ok!!" I replied, getting super excited.

After we were dressed, we did our makeup and curled our hair - and added lots of hairspray. When we were completely ready Ava and I climbed into our Beetle and left for the concert.
