Author's note: I ended up writing it all in one day, but I hope I wasn't too late to enter this into Wattpad's Fanfiction contest... Enjoy!

The rain beat down on the window panes as the wind howled, creating a slightly off-tune harmony. The storm caused the power to shut off, forcing the house to be almost pitch black with the exception of the occasional flash of lightning to illuminate the rooms.

Chibitalia was in the living room, staring through the cold glass door at the cleaning supplies he accidently left outside in the rain. He was previously mopping Austria's marble walkway in the backyard before the rain began to pour down, and deafening thunder scared the child half to death. The result in this was with boy running inside and abandoning the supplies.

The little Italian was so distracted in his thoughts that he failed to notice a slightly taller boy stroll into the same room. The boy's face lit up with sheer joy once he saw Chibitalia, but his smile faltered when he realized the other child's dress was still dripping on the wooden floor.

She must've been outside in the rain again. The Holy Roman boy thought as he walked toward the person he assumed to be a girl.

"Um, miss Italia?" The boy spoke in a whispered tone.

"Ah!" The Italian squeaked, and then turned around. The child calmed down once he realized it was his friend, Holy Rome. "Oh, it's just you, Holy Rome," He said as the two boys exchanged smiles.

"Sorry to scare you, I didn't mean it..." Holy Rome stated, his face downcast.

"It's okay-" The boy's response was interrupted by a bright flash of lightning followed by loud thunder booming in the sky. The sudden noise made Italy jump, clinging himself onto Holy Rome's cloak.

The Roman boy was flustered at first, but quickly became aware of the current situation. He hugged the other boy in a comforting way to hopefully silence his whimpering.

"It's alright, it's just thunder..." He told Italy while they embraced silently.

The both of them stood there for what seemed like forever until Italy calmed himself down. He backed up a little bit to look at Holy Roman Empire and smiled.

"Aha!" Something clicked in Holy Rome's mind as he took Chibitalia's hand and cautiously led him to Austria's music room while blushing.

"W-where are we going, Holy Rome?" The chibi asked curiously, hardly being able to see where the boy was taking him.

Holy Rome just smiled, determined to cheer up his adorable friend. "Here we are," The young Roman declared, once the duo reached the piano bench. "Would you like to play the piano together?"

Chibitalia, who was close enough to see the piano with the help of the big windows, giggled and nodded, sitting on the smooth bench as Holy Rome sat next to him, lifting the piano cover.

The two young boys played songs such as "Fur Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven with the rain adding dramatic sound effects in the background. By the time the storm had stopped, the boys finished playing the piano and sat down, leaning on the piano bench and cuddled, enjoying the company of one another.
