"Are you guys ready?" Abby Parker asked her friends as she picked them up for their much needed girls night out. They were heading to the best bar in town to hear the local band that was playing. "We've been ready for this all week," her friends answered as they hopped in. For these nights Abby was always the designated driver since she didn't drink and she knew Emma and Jenn were sure to get pretty wasted. Abby was the only single girl in the bunch as Emma and Jenn were both married which meant they were always trying to hook her up with someone. Yet that's not how Abby wanted to meet someone, she wanted it to just happen.
As they pulled into the parking lot it was hard to find a parking space as it was already getting packed and it was only 9:30pm. Abby was and her friends were all in their early 20's, so as they walked up to the guy at the door checking ID's Emma and Jenn had theirs ready, but as often as Abby came here the security guy knew her and when it was her turn they just fist pumped and she was in. "Being a regular has its perks," she spoke with a smile once inside.
The bar had 3 different rooms, the patio, the middle room and the big room, the band was playing in the big one. They entered the room and she immediately sees some of the band members, she had been following this band for nearly 10 years, they all greet her with hugs as she introduces her friends. While the band finished setting up, they went and found a spot at the bar and ordered some food and drinks.
The band started playing their awesome rockin' country music, and they all started dancing and it was clear to Abby that Emma's and Jenn's alcohol had already started to kick in. Abby wasn't really much of a dancer, but she tried, she watched other women in their high heels dancing and had no clue how they did so, it had to be extremely uncomfortable. She always preferred her cowboy boots over anything, along with her boots her outfit for the night included daisy dukes, a belt buckle and a simple t-shirt. It was summertime in her home state of Virginia so her attire was fitting for the weather, plus she liked showing off her tan that she had been working on all summer laying out on the beach.
After a few songs they sat back down at the bar to take a breather, while Abby took another bite of her pizza her eyes wondered around the room and landed on a cowboy sitting further down the bar. "Wow, he is beautiful!" not realizing she had just said that out loud where her friends could hear her. Once they figured out who she was talking about they insisted she go over and talk to him. "I never approach a guy and besides he's probably here with someone, there's no way he's single" Abby protested. "Fine, wait a few minutes to see if a girl sits by him, then if not you go grab him and pull him on the dance floor." Emma insisted. "oh my gosh, he's looking over here!" Jenn exclaimed which made Abby quickly turn and look, he was indeed looking right at her so she gave him her best smile. In return he tipped his white cowboy hat and gave the sexiest smile Abby had ever seen, "that tells you all you need to know, now go over there" Emma persisted.
"ok ok I'm going, don't push me" said Abby as she gave in, he wasn't looking in her direction as she got up and walked over to him. When she got close enough to touch him he must've sensed a presence and turned around, Abby was surprisingly quick on her feet tonight and said "hey cowboy, let's dance!" as she grabbed his hand and pulled him on the dance floor. "well yes ma'am" he said in a voice that went very well with his good looks. There were a few other couples on the dance floor doing the two step, so they joined in. As he put his hand on her hip she looked up and saw the most gorgeous pair of blue eyes she'd ever seen, she almost forgot the steps to the dance while getting lost in them. She almost felt like she had seen him somewhere before though, had it been here? Or was he a customer from work? Nah no way she had seen that face before because she wouldn't have forgotten it if so.
The more they danced the flirtier Abby became, she played with his hat and even put it on her head for a moment. Wow he's just as stunning without his hat she thought to herself, she actually kinda liked that look better. After a few songs she needed to go to the lady's room, she mouthed to him wear she was going since it was way too loud in there at that point to even try to talk. She made her way through the crowd that had multiplied quickly since they'd been there. When she came back, she checked in on her friends first to see how they were, "How's it going with the sexy cowboy?" Emma asked leaning close to Abby's ear hoping she could hear her, Jenn followed with her own question "did you get his number yet?" "Give me time ladies I'm working on it" she said as she went off to find him again.
