"I wasnt there!!"

"Oh hello Niall! How are you love?" She said cheerily, making me cry again. She's on her honeymoon and knowing that her daughters been put into a coma is going to kill her.

"Pearl, something terrible has happened."

"Oh dear! What's wrong?" She said, the happiness leaving her voice.

"It's Charly. She's- she's-." I couldn't the words to come out my mouth.

"Niall? Honey? What's happened to Charly?!?!?" She exclaimed.

"She's in a coma, she fell off the stage." I cried.

"What?!?!" She screeched down the phone.

"I'm so sorry. There's nothing I could do!!" I replied, crying harder and harder.

"I'm getting the first flight there, okay?"

"Okay, goodbye!"

"Bye Niall." And with that I hung up the phone. I sunk down to the floor and buried my head in my hands. Why do this happen? My Charly! She doesn't deserve this. She's one of the best people in the world.

"Niall. The doctor says you can go see her now...." Louis voice sounded, as he rubbed my back.

"Lou, will you come with me?" I whispered.

"Sure mate..." His eyes where still red and puffy but he managed to muster a small smile. He gave the boys a 'I'll be back' look and followed me into the room. I crept up to her bed. She lay silent, eyes closed and her lips slightly parted. Her hands lay at her sides and her chest rose in a slow pattern with a heart monitor by her bedside. Her hair was tucked behind her head and I knew she hated it like that. She found it uncomfortable and it tickled the back of her ears. I desperately wanted her to jolt up and shout 'boo!' But her eyes stayed shut.

Tears formed in my eyes again and Louis wrapped his arms around my shoulders.

"It's my fault Lou...." I croaked, "if I had been with her I would've been beside her, the brick would've hit me instead, she would've have had a concussion, she wouldn't have got dizzy and fallen off that stage. It's all my fault. I wasn't there to protect her. I wasn't there."

"Niall, you can't help what's happened. It's not your fault a stupid girl decided to throw a brick at someone. The doctors also said it was because she hadn't been eating as much as usual and her body didn't take it well."

"See! I didn't notice she wasn't eating! I'm supposed to notice these things!"

"None of us noticed. Her mum never noticed. Troy never noticed. Even the paps never noticed. You never seen her for a month? How where you supposed to know?"

"I just was! I supposed to be there! And I wasn't! I wasn't there!!"
