Save me, I wondered. What did she mean? How do I save her? I'm not superman. I don't save people. I help them. Wait, is that what she meant? To help her? Is that how I save her?
I sat in my car and pushed the chair back and layed my head on my arm. I opened the car roof and locked my car. I stared at the star and whispered, "Star light, star bright. The first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight."
I closed my eyes and wished for Riley to understand how beautiful she was. I wished that--wait, I stopped. Can I even make two wishes? Oh well--I could find a way to show her. Ans finally, I wished to understand Riley and for her to be comfortable around me. I wanted to be there for her and to be honest, she needs me.

"Have you decided who you're bringing to the Valentine's Day dance?" Lucas casually asked Zay and I as we walked over to Language Arts class.
"Probably Vanessa but I haven't even asked," Zay replied, scratching the back of his head. "You?" Zay asked, referring to me.
"I don't think I'm going," I shrugged. Dances weren't really my thing. I always wanted to go with the right person but I still haven't found out who that person is.
"Why? The dance should be fun," Lucas playfully pushed me. I playfully pushed him back and we both laughed.
"Eh, I'd much rather spend my Saturday night watching Harry Potter than going to some stupid dance," I shrugged once more.
"Do you want us to not go either? We can always blow going and watch Harry Potter with you," Zay asked.
"Nah, you guys can go. I'll be fine,"I reassured them, making sure they knew I was okay with them going.
"Are you sure?" Lucas asked to make sure.
"I'm positive," I smiled. We walked into Language Arts and I sat down in my seat. Riley walked in, with her mask as usual, and took her seat next to me.
"Hey," I casually greeted, waving.
"Hi," Riley whispered, looking out the window.
I looked out the window trying to see what she was always looking at. Finally, I asked, "What 'cha looking at?"
"The clouds," replied Riley. She took a look at me and then returned to looking out the window.
"Why?"
"Clouds are interesting,"
"Not really,"
She turned to me. "You have your opinion and I have mine. Clouds are amazing,"
"Why are clouds interesting?"
"Aren't you full of questions today,"
I laughed a little. "You haven't even heard all of my questions. Answer my question though," I put my chin on my hand and prepared to hear her answer.
"Well, for starters, clouds can turn into any shape or form. I've always wondered how. And when they turn into any shape, everyone sees something different, which makes me wonder how is that even possible. How can people see so many different things in one cloud?"
I smiled. I wish I could see her smile. Riley looked really interested into clouds. It was heart warming to see her happy like that. "Are you in a cloud watching club or something?"
"Of course not. I don't believe in clubs."
"You don't believe in a lot of things do you?"
I heard a small laugh. "Yeah. I really don't"
