Darkness cloaks my vision as the sound horses hooves on stone ground surrounds me, the air was refreshingly crisp and cool-a feel that seemed like a distant memory until now. Shapes formed around me as my vision cleared, once it has fully restored I was surrounded by a dazzling snow covered landscape which can only belong to one place, my home land-Skyrim. I longed to feel this breeze and walk these undoubtablely breath taking woods ever since my expedition to the hot, dusty land of Elsweyr took a turn for the worse, come to think of it I don't remember anything other than walking the plains of Elsweyr in dehydrated agony and pennyless despair, but that's it! Nothing after that. I start to question where in Skyrim I was and who brought me here? I tried to move but instead find myself bound and sat upon a wooden horse drawen cart with three other Nords: one in blue and purple armour, one in some of the finest clothing I have seen, another in rags, and just like me they are bound upon this cart going who knows where
"Ah, so you are finally awake" spoke the fair haired Nord in the armour, he was rugged and handsome and just to hear another Nordic accent other than my own was like honey for the ears
"It would seem so" I pinch my left temple between my thumb and index finger, the sound of my own voice was painful to hear after four years with no company other than your own
"You were caught trying to cross the boarder, friend?"
"Damn you stormcloaks" spat the Nord in raggs, this caught both the other Nords attention " Skyrim was fine before you came along, Empire was nice and lazy" his words became only a sigh
"Anyway" continued the blond Nord, glaring at the ragged one "We are all brothers and sisters in bonds now, you are one of us" his words made the Nord in fine clothes grunt, only now did I realise that he was gagged
"What is his problem?" huffed raggs
"Watch your tongue, horse theif" snarled the fair one "You're speaking of Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm" the horse theifs mouth dropped, what's going on?
"Ulfric? If they have caught you them... Oh god, where are they taking us?"
"I don't know but where ever it is Sovengarde awaits" Sovengarde? No, it can't be! I am too young to die, I haven't done anything to be captured! Okay I did steal a few coins to survive back in Elsweyr but I never thought the Imperials took any interest in the business of the Khajiit. We started to approach a large wooden gate, which looked faintly familiar, the horse thief began to panic more
"Mara, Dibella, Arkay, Talos, Kynareth, Zenithar, Stendarr, Akatosh! Divines save me"
"Where are you from thief?" said the blond one
"Why does it matter"
"A Nords last thoughts should be of home" it was the first sincere thing he said to the thief, after a short silence the thief spoke
"Rorikstead, I'm from Roristead" the gates opened to reveal a relatively large town, too small to be a hold
"Where are we?" I gasped and we passed houses that were flying the flag of the Empire
"This is Helgan, I use to be sweet on a girl here. Wonder if Velav is still making mead with those Juniver berries" he sighed " its funny, when I was a boy Imperial walls and towers use to make me feel so safe" we continued riding until we came to a stop with other carts of Stormcloaks by a tower
"Why are we stopping?" said the horse thief
"Why do you think? End of the line" at the command of the Imperial soliders we exited off the cart and watched as the Solider infront of us read out a list "Damn Imperials love their lists"
"Ulfric Stormcloak" Ulfric moved towards the tower were the butchers blade was waiting
"Ralof of Riverwood" he moved beside Ulfric without another word
"Lokir of Rorikstead"
"No!" yelled the horse thief, also known as Lorki "I'm not a rebel" he began to run away yelling "You can't take me alive"
"ARCHERS READY!" yelled the Lady Imperial next to the list reader, arrows shot out of nowhere and poor Lorki was down and dead. Never run from your fate.
"Wait you there" said the list reader, looking right at me "step forward" I did as I was told "Who are you?"
"Kenna, Kenna The Fallen"
