The dark haired Nord checked his list and pouted before turning towards the Legate with a worried expression, by the divines what is wrong?
"Legate, she is not on the list!" the man looked genuinly concerned but the Legate just scoffed
"To the block" and waved her hand, oh please no! I couldn't die, I have done nothing wrong. I looked to the Nord but he looked away then said
"I am sorry, atleast you will die in your home land" I sighed and moved on, I couldn't breath this was not about to happen to me. The legate walked up and took centre stage right next to the priest and.... exacutioner. My heart was pounding as the priest began our last rights
"hurry it up!" snapped the exacutioner, the priest mummbled something as she walked away and the first prisoner was brought up to the chopping block. He met his end when the butchers blade came down on him
"Down with the Stormcloaks!" chanted the Imperials this caused a rally of Stomcloaks to shout abuse back, I for one had no clue about this rivalry between these two.... armies? I know the Imperial Legon is an army but who are the Stormcloaks?
"Next prisoner" shouted the Legate as she pointed to me. A thundering roar echoed through out this small hold, everyone was dead silent and searching for the owner of the frightening voice
"What was that?" gasped the exacutioner, the Legate-cleary uneffected by this new sound- glared at him and snarled
"I said next prisoner!" I was escorted to the block and forced on my knees, the exacutioner slammed the right side of my face into the stone slab and I winced in pain. The exacutioner and the watch tower; my dying veiw, he raised the blade and I closed my eyes.
THUD!
SCREAM!
ROAR!
I open my eyes, it can't be! It is! It's a.... a.... a Dragon!
I scamble to get up but the force of its breath puts me on my knees, everything goes blurry infront of me. I drag myself up, relying too much on my balance and nearly falling. There, up ahead I see a open door. I sprint towards it, glancing back to the Imperial Archers as they attempt to kill the beast from Oblivion. Poor fools.
"Come on guys, the guards aren't going to give us another chance" the Stormcloak soldiers where gathering here "up those stairs" sounds like a plan, something more then I have anyways. I run up the stairs
CRASH!!!!
My whole body is thrown against the stone cold stairs, the dragon burst threw the wall and had blocked my exit, ahh shit! I pick myself up and looked out the gaping hole in the wall, the dragons fire had burnt a whole in the roof of the Tavern, if only I could just...... Too late, surge of adrenaline sent me leaping across the gap and into a perfect forward roll, I sprint across the deck and fly down, landing in a crouch. I laughed and whether it was out of fear of adrenaline I did not know, but it sure felt good to get out. Bastard, the gate was locked. Not planning on letting anyone out, eh Legate? Not until this beast from Oblivion is dealt with? Sorry but I have other plans
"Ah prisoner, it's good to see you are still alive" it was the list guy and he was... Smiling? Now who in their right mind would smile at a time like this..... Still, it was a handsome smile
"Yeah, no thanks to you" I laugh, though nothing is funny
"I apologise, not the best introduction to the Empire"
"Look, can we keep the pleasantries till after we escape"
"Oh..... Right, follow me" I stop, was he serious? He turned to me "look I promise to not continue the execution if you follow me" was that a joke? The only one to do the executing here is me..... But I suppose sticking together is a good idea.... Better safe than sorry. I nod and he continues on. The town was carnage, charred and burned bodies lying everywhere, the smell of burned flesh filled the air and Legate men trying hopelessly to slay the beast. Poor fools. Suddenly we stopped
"Ralof, you traitor!"
"Hadvar, you won't stop us now! We are gonna escape!" I waved to him and he just looked at me like I were crazy, maybe I was but he could have at least waved back. "Kenna, this way" he ran to the nearest door and Hadvar the other
"Kenna, I will get your binds off" By the gods, now two guys decide to fight over me! Wow, what luck I have! I run to Hadvar, Ralof talks too much. We enter the Keep-already stained with the smell of smoke and death, I hold my hands out for Hadvar who pulls out a dagger and cuts my binds. I loosen off my wrists and crack my neck, I hook him in the face and grab his dagger, using my free arm I pin him against the wall by the throat
"Listen here and listen good, I don't want any funny business! You hear? So if you try anything I. Will. Kill. You! Got it?" I snarl, he looks me in the eyes and laughs. Wow, their such a beautiful shade of hazel..... Wait a minute!
WHACK!!!
I go flying through the air in a spiral motion, landing on the cold stone floor with a thud. Hadvar stepped over me and took back his dagger,
"Got it" he winked before helping me to my feet. I under estimated you, well played Hadvar, very well played. I loosen off my shoulders before proceeding to ransack the chests in look for anything, money? Armour? A weapon? I pull out studded Imperial armour, gloves and boots, okay all I need now is a........ Aha! I grab the steel sword from under the bed and give it a swing, this should do nicely
"Watch yourself there, wouldn't want you to hurt yourself now" I glared at him and hurled the blade which brushed his cheek and wedged its self into the wooden pillar beside his head, he touched the scratch and looks at the blood on his fingers
"I think you'll find it won't be me who gets hurt" I state, he humphed and smiled before pulling my sword out the pillar and tossing it back to me
"I'll be sure to remember that, now if it's okay with you we should probably find away out" he bowed "after you"
I point my sword to the door; "ladies first" he laughs and begins walking, I could get to like this kid if he weren't so accepting of what happens to him. We approach a gate blocking our route to the other room, Hadvar starts looking around for a key of something, God! We don't have time for this, I tweak the gates hinges and kick it, sending the gate flying into the other room. Hadvar just raises his eyebrow at me, I nudge my head in the way of the passage and he walks ahead, guess he never though a woman could do that.
"Imperial bastards!" I turned my head to the Stormcloak who stood-weapon drawn at the other door, the now Ralof came in. "Oh god" she exclaimed as Hadvar's blade penetrated her bowels, and she collapses to the floor in a pile of blood and bowels
"Empires wench!" Snarled the other, I stared at him blankly clentching my fist "Talos smite you, whore" I unclench my fist and it glows blue, the Stormcloak roared at me and I looked him in the eye. Running, I jump and spiral around projecting bolts of lightning into his body, he staggers backwards and I land in a cat-like pose. I take a running jump and hurl my sword throw his throat, he falls to the ground; choking on his own blood, I look into his dying eyes and pull out my blade, letting his blood spray the room and me
"Is that why they call you The Fallen?" Hadvar's words caught me by surprise
"What?
"I said, is that why they call you The Fallen, cause you glide like an angel and fight like a Demon"
"Precisely"
