My best friends or should I say sisters, came over straight after school to get ready for tonight. I've known these girls since we were in diapers. We grew up together and have been inseparable ever since. We've had our whole lives planned out together since we were 12 years old.
Let me tell you about my girls.
Hayden, also eighteen is a true badass. She was always quiet as a kid, never really stood up for herself. But she never let her pain show. Now though she's a totally different person. Like I said, a true badass through and through. She's a sporty girl. She's a soccer player and an amazing one at that. She's also one of the smartest people I've ever met. A true book worm and I love that about her. I love it when she corrects my grammar and spelling mistakes.
She's all around hilarious and has the potential to be a model.
Alexis is 19. She's a true Irish red head and by God does she live up to it!. Her feisty, firey attitude is mind blowing. She's never cared what anyone thinks about her. She hates being mainstream and likes to stand out from the crowd. She's the literal definition of flawless. Every guy in our school wants or has wanted her. Another extremely intelligent girl and a book worm.
I like to call her my walking dictionary.
But me ? I'm different. I don't like sports. Trust me I've tried I'm no good. I'm not pretty enough to be a model like Hayden and Alexis. I'm not as smart and most definitely not a bookworm. I'm just different. I'm a paranoid person. I've had depression, anxiety, I stopped eating, you name it.
I had one escape
It made me who I am today
It made me strong
Confident
Fearless
It was dance
There was always something about music that captured me since a young age. I grew up in a house where music was constantly played and my dad would pick me up and we'd dance around together. I can pick up lyrics or a dance move quicker than the blink of an eye.
I can't go a minute without headphones in my ears or swinging my legs around and spinning around my kitchen.
It's my release.
I put all my emotion, my pain, happiness, sadness, anger into my dance and the world fades away and I forget for a minute that I'm different.
I forget that I'm not an A+ student
I forget that I'm not as pretty as other girls.
I can be myself when I dance.
Okay that was my soft side. Don't get used to it because it only comes out sometimes. I've made a change in my life and I've become what my best friends are. Badass bitches. I no longer care for people's opinions or views on me or what I do or say.
My new personal motto is like me for me or there's the door......and make sure it hits you on the ass on the way out.
Or there's the simpler version Hayden taught me "KICK EM OUT YA LIFE BYE BITCH YASSSSSS"
Well that's all there is too us really......for now
