Celeste~

While Alice and Grace were yelling at me, I was rubbing my temples trying to figure out a way to get some gas.

I was honestly so dumbfounded I couldn't think. "I'm pretty sure the tank was halfway full when we left" I stated out of the blue. They stopped yelling/arguing  and looked at me. "Look. This isn't that important, I mean, we still haven't comprehended what happened back at the gas station" Alice said as Grace nodded along in agreement. We all descended out of our car and sat down on the gravel.

"So what exactly did happen?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows. "Well, we all saw the same thing, the shadow appeared I dropped my Mountain Dew -" Grace was cut off by Alice shouting up at the sky, " R.I.P THE PRECIOUS MOUNTAIN DEW!" Causing Grace and I to roll our eyes and laugh.

"Anyways..." Grace carried on " We saw a shadow, Celeste screamed because the blond guy was gone and well, we got the hell out of there." as she said it, she shrugged like it was no deal at all. But it was. It really was.

There were probably people out there who were immune to the disease to and we were going to find them. Weather Grace, and Alice like it or not. I mean, for Christ sakes, they could've found a cure, or they may even have access to more resources?!

"We have to find them again," I exclaimed "think of all the things they must have!"

They looked at each other and furrowed their eyebrows. I rolled my eyes, " Think of all the possibilities there are if we do find them, it's better going after opportunities than thinking what if we did this or that."

Grace looked unsure, Alice on the other hand, shrugged. "You're right." She smiled, filing her nails with her blade.

I looked at Grace, who was continuing to bite her nails. "I just don't know," she sighed "they could murder us or something."

"We'll sleep on it, yeah?" I asked, gesturing to the back of the pickup truck where our sleeping bags were. Which we managed to snag from a couple of outdoor or sporting stores.

She fiddled with her thumbs, which is what she does when she thinks. It was getting dark and I realized we'd been talking for about an hour. I patted her leg and stood up. Alice climbed over the trunk part and got in. She fumbled with the laces of her converse, me doing the same.

Once we were ready to lye down, Grace joined us and we all nestled in our sleeping bags. Trying to get as comfortable on the jagged and rough metal we laid on. I turned over on my back and peeled open my eyes. The sky was lit up with hundreds of stars. I sat in awe as they each twinkled ever so slightly.

Smiling, I rolled back over on my side and closed me eyes. Before I knew it, I fell into a deep, and dreamless sleep.
