Yugi x Reader Tournament Chapter 9

So I don't feel like looking up a bunch of real cards and figuring out how to put which ones and how into the story, so there will be some cards I am just completely making up along with their abilities, but enjoy the story still, thnx

~~~~Your POV~~~~

Yugi and I were facing each other. Even though we were on complete opposite sides of the field far off from one another, it felt like we were right in front of each other. The lights intensified the mood, everyone seemed to be still and silent, all waiting for the duel to start. Finally, the computer appeared on the ceiling, everyone now in even greater anticipation. I felt nervous... I was dueling Yugi, I was dueling someone I loved even though I had just met them. Three... two... one. "Duel!"

~~~~Yugi's POV~~~~

'Yugi, aren't you going to switch with me?' The pharaoh asked Yugi confused. 'No, I want to duel her. I feel like I need to...' Yami was silent at first in surprise, then smirking. 'Okay.' "Duel!" I looked up from my cards at ___(f/n), signaling for her to go first. She appeared to have gotten the hint as she drew a card starting her turn. I smiled. "Okay, I'll start off with this." ___(f/n) summoned a two star monster with barely any attack points in attack mode. I was surprised, expecting something more from her last duel. "And I end my turn." 'Is she going easy on me? Why would she do that?' Drawing a card I thought for a moment, trying to figure out what she was doing. "I summon celtic guardian in attack mode and place one card face down. Now celtic guardian, attack her monster!" ___(f/n) smiled. As my celtic guardian was about to take out her monster, it jumping out of the way and towards me, hitting me. "Uh!" ___(f/n) laughed playfully. "My monster's special ability activates when any four star monster or higher attacks it while it's in attack mode, allowing it to dodge the attack, missing it's target, and then hits you directly." I stood there wide eyed, then smiling. 'She's good, I've never seen a monster like that.' "I end my turn switching celtic guardian into defense mode."

~~~~Your POV~~~~

I was smiling, this was already starting out really fun. Yugi seemed to feel the same. "Draw." I drew a card, smiling at the card I drew, it was my favorite. "I play this." Yugi looked curious about my card. "If you're wondering if this monster has a special ability like my last one, don't worry it doesn't. But it'll still be a bit difficult to beat I bet." I said winking. It may have been small, but I could see Yugi blushing. "I summon a monster and place three face down cards and end my turn."

~~~~Yugi's POV~~~~

'She seems to be focussing more on defense than anything, but I'm sure she has more than that planned.' I drew, then looking at all the cards in my hand. I didn't have anything to useful, but I did have Exchange. 'Maybe I could use this to see what kind of cards ___(f/n) has.' "I play the spell card, Exchange! So now we each take a card from the other's hand." ___(f/n) was smiling, walking to the middle of the field. I walked up to, meeting her in the center. She smiled at me, me automatically smiling back. ___(f/n) held out her hand, showing me her cards. I'd never seen any of the ones she had, but they all seemed like good ones. Since I didn't know any of them, I took a card at random. "Wow, I'm a bit surprised you took that one." ___(f/n) commented, seeming to be looking to the left a bit embarassed, me then reading the card I had chosen. Romantic Entanglement. Immediately I blushed, it was a fusion crd that fused two similar monsters and added an extra five hundred points to the resulting monster. "O-oh, yeah." Then I held my cards out to her, ___(f/n) seeming to take a random card only grabbing it by the very edge quickly. Walking back to our sides of the arena, we both turned back to each other once again. "Okay, now I play breaker, the magical warrior, and he gains a spell counter when I summon him, giving him extra points. Breaker, attack her monster!" "I activate the trap card, secret barrier! This card is specifically for my monster, which makes it indestructible for three turns as long as it remains in attack mode, but I still take damage from the difference in it's and your monsters points." My monster attacked ___(f/n)s, her monster remaining, but her life points dropping by two hundred. "Wow, you have some amazing cards ___(f/n), I've never seen most of them and their all so unique." I complimented her, amazed by her dueling. "There just some rare cards is all, yours are the amazing ones." ___(f/n) replied seeming somewhat flushed. I sort of understood why she was, I felt it to, ___(F/n) was just so, perfect.

~~~~Your POV~~~~

I've been having lots of fun dueling Yugi, but I kept getting butterflies in my stomach. With every move he made and word he said, and every smile he gave me I felt something. I've never really liked anyone before so, loving someone felt, different. "My turn! I play the spell card Magical Expression. This is another card made just for this monster, it adds a hundred points for every card on my opponent's field, including the cards in their hand. I told you they'd be difficult to get rid of." I said smiling. Yugi smiled again too, and I felt more butterflies in my stomach. "Attack his monster!" "Uh!" Yugi's breaker was destroyed and he lost four hundred life points. The crowd cheered, a few of them for me but most of them rooting for Yugi. This was an exciting duel.
