Shortly here after Vincent gave me all of this advice, seventh grade year had ended and eighth grade year was quickly approaching. Summer was extremely short and a new year means a new me. I decided I was going to dress more formally and try and put myself out there for Amber. By the time this new year came around, I hadn't forgotten about Amber and was hoping to have a class or two with her. The first day of eighth grade year was a slow but easy day well hated because it was the meaning of school coming back but it was the day that I became extremely happy. That morning I walked through the front doors and straight to the cafeteria to where I picked up my schedule for the year. The page read: "Period 1:English. Period 2:PE. Period 3:Concert Band. Period 4:Health/Typing. Period 5:United States History. Period 6:Science. Period 7:Mathematics."I stared at my schedule hoping that I got at least one class with Amber. I went to my first period and not a single sight of her. Second period the same because of it being "Boy's Physical Education." Of course. I also knew she wasn't in my third period because based off of what I've heard about her, she doesn't like band but loves music. Fourth period finally came along and I glared across the classroom looking for her beautiful face and at one of the front tables, I found her sitting with one of her friends. The class period flew by quickly considering we had not much more to do. Fifth period came around and again, I did not see what I hoped for. Sixth too had nothing to offer for me other than some new friends. Then seventh period came around. It turned out that I had fourth and seventh period with her and every time I saw her within the day, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Most of eighth grade year went by with me being too shy to actually say anything to her but about half way through the year, a friend I made in seventh period, Wayne Jones, had decided to invite her to come sit with me and him at our table. I tried to play myself off as cool when she did decide to sit with us by slouching down in my seat and keeping quiet when in all reality, I just wanted to stand up and kiss her and to never let her go. She and Wayne talked because they were friends but I managed to over hear her asking who I was. The joy that filled my body when she actually noticed me was unimaginable. Wayne gave her my name and I chose to sit up and introduce myself. I was extremely hesitant to do so but in order to become her friend, I had to first give her my name. I looked at her kinda shy like and said shakily "Hi,uh... my name is Warren. I've heard a lot about you from Vincent and Wayne. From what they tell me, their stories must be true." She looked at me kinda confused. She then looked at Wayne and asked "You've been telling Warren about me?" Wayne replied without hesitation and said "He wanted to know a little bit about you and so I gave him a little bit to work with." She looked back over and me and just grinned. I then slouched back down in my chair and blushed more than I ever had before. When she grinned at me, I knew I would have a chance of being with her and loving her for the rest of my life. Many thoughts ran through my head that day but she never left my mind.
