What I Am

Last week at Camp

After we finished eating Johnny said I had a week to stay with Selena to get to know her a little better. After this week I have to go to Silver Harbor for the month. Selena and I will be spending a lot of time together this week. I've never had a mom figure so now that I do I'm gonna take advantage of it.

"I have a few lessons today," says Selena," do you want to be with Luke for a bit?"

"Yeah sure. He seems pretty cool."

"Okay I'll have him come over for breakfast."

"Sound like a plan."

I walked back to my room from Selena and I'd living area. Today after Selena's lessons were gonna get some clothes for me. She's having her friend come from the outside world.
I still don't really know where we are but that's okay because I'm with my mom.
Selena gave me a white dress to wear today. I'm really missing leggings and jeans. But whatever. I walked to the bathroom to brush my hair out. I can't believe it's already been a week. Every night Selena has braided my hair so my honey blonde hair is wavey today. No makeup and clean teeth. Then I walk down stairs for breakfast. I find Luke sitting there all by himself. He stands up and says " Selena had to go there was an emergency with one of the young children."

"Oh, is the child okay?"

"Yeah she's fine,she just do magic for the first time. Selena had to go check it out. So it looks like its just you and me for breakfast" Luke says.

"So whats for breakfast," I ask smiling?

"Well, what would you like. Anything," he says grinning. Today he is acting very happy and excited.

"Um....." I say tapping my chin," how about eggs and toast?"

"Your wish is my command princess," he says with a wink. Luke claps is hands and says BACON AND EGGS and then a second later three men come in carrying trays. They set down orange just bacon, eggs, toast, and pancakes.

"Wow, this is a lot.'

" well, your sorta a princess so what else do you expect?"

I smile and we dig in. Everything was amazing. Best breakfast I've ever had. We stand up and head out.

"So, what are we gonna do?" I ask.

"I'm gonna show you the lake," says Luke, "you will love it. Trust me." He smiles and I blush. I think I sorta like him. We walk past the castle. And yes, I was informed it actually is a castle. There is a small shed, its run down and sad looking.

"What is that shed for?" I ask being my curious self.

He stops in his tracks, turns to me and says," you need to ask Selena. That is something she should talk to you about not me." He turns around and continues walking.

After about five minutes we reach a beautiful lake, blue as far as the eye can see. It's still early so we can still see the sunrise. The sky is pink and orange. He grabs me by the arm and says come on, I wanna show you something. He pulls me towards a bench and we sit down.

"Isn't it beautiful?" He asks

"Yes. Very much." I reply

"So who exactly are you? Like yeah your Casey Braun and your a princess, but who are you?" He asks

"I, I don't really know. What do you wanna know?" I replied

"I don't know. Just tell me something about you."

"Well, I was going to go to school to become a doctor, or a therapist. I just want to do something that involves helping people. Kids especially. I want to help kids that grew up like me. Who don't know there real parents. You know?"

"Yeah I understand. You know, I think if you choose to stay here you should talk to Selena about teaching, both magic and normal stuff. That way you'll be involved with the kids."

"I suppose I could, but I'm so lost I dont know what to choose. How am I suppose to choose to be a princess or a magic teaching princess? I mean I don't want to let my mom or my dad down."

"Well I think you should do whatever you feel more love for," Luke says staring at the sunset," I believe that what ever you are needed to do will happen because you have passion for it and you love it. Just follow your heart "

"I never thought about it that way. Enough about me, what do you want to do for a living?"

"I actually don't know, I hate the thought of leaving this place, of trying to hide my powers and of not being with Selena. She's just like a mom to me. Ever since my mom passed she sorta took me in and cared for me. I can never repay her. She helped me in my time of need, I dont think I will leave this place." He turns towards me,"Selena, your mom is an amazing lady. Give her a chance. She loves you, she's been watching over you trying to gt you here for a very very very long time. She's always wanted to meet you, I don blame her, your..."

For the first in forever I feel like somebody cares. I mean, Luke, Selena, and Johnny. It's like the family I never had.

"What am I," I say looking deep into his dark caramel eyes?

"You amazing." As soon as he says that I start blushing. He touches his hand to my rosy cheeks and kisses me.
