Chapter 7

Author's Note: Well, I'm glad to see that you guys are still interested in this story, despite me deleting it on you. I figured I'd update before working a double hosting shift at work. As much fun as I have at work, your comments always make me feel even batter. With that being said, I've almost finished writing this story. It's going to be nine chapters and an epilogue...so keep that in mind. All I have left to write is the epilogue. I know it's not much, but it's a short story. There aren't really "couple moments", but I've tried my best to make it sweet. So let me know what you think of this chapter. --Ekat =)

Zoey’s P.O.V.

            Liam and I have been in the emergency room for over an hour. We were brought through to the back almost immediately, seeing as how it was ‘Liam Payne and Niall Horan’; I guess that’s one perk to being known by so many people around the world. The doctor said Niall should be fine, and that he should wake up shortly. Once he wakes up, the doctor will do a few tests before releasing him, just to make sure.

Liam went to find a vending machine about twenty minutes ago, since he hasn’t eaten in a few hours. I couldn’t even think about eating, knowing that Niall was lying in a hospital bed because of my best friend. I still can’t believe that Zayn punched him in the jaw. A few years ago, if Zayn would have done that to a boy, I wouldn’t have minded much, but I really like Niall dammit!

“Zoey,” Niall whispered in a hoarse voice. I looked down, and saw that he was staring at me with tired eyes.

“Niall,” I breathe out, grasping his hand with mine, trying to focus on him instead of the electricity running between my fingers.

“Where am I?” Niall croaked out. I winced at hearing the pain in his voice. I knew that Zayn’s punch packed a wallop, but I had no idea that it could cause that much pain.

“The emergency room,” I replied with a sheepish smile, not sure how he was going to feel about this news. The look of deep thought on his face didn’t exactly help me decide either. I close my eyes to let out a nervous breath, but am cut off by something being placed on my lips. I realized that it’s a pair of lips; Niall’s lips. I open them, and push back a little, the need to feel his lips on mine growing. I don’t know how much time passed, but too quickly for my liking, we were pulled apart. I looked and saw that Liam was standing on the side of the bed, trying his best not to smirk at us. Niall and I were blushing, and trying not to look at him.

“As sweet as that moment was, I had to interrupt because Niall’s heart monitor was speeding up,” Liam informed us, making us blush even more. Me personally, I didn’t even hear the damn beeping.

“Mate, can you give us a few minutes?” Niall asked, sitting up. Liam gave Niall a knowing look, making Niall roll his eyes. “Don’t worry Li, I’ll try and resist the urge to kiss her. I just want to talk to Zoey for a few minutes in private.”

“Okay,” Liam caved. He was almost out the door before he turned around to make one last cheeky comment. “But if I hear the monitor start to speed up, don’t think I won’t turn the hose on you guys.”

“Wanker,” Niall muttered under his breath, earning a chuckle from me. At hearing my laughter, Niall looked up to me with a smile. “Listen Zoey; I wanted to talk to you.”

“I got that part,” I teased, but allowed him to continue.

“I know we don’t know each other that well, but from what I’ve seen already, what’s not to love?” Niall rhetorically asked, his cheeks turning red with each word he spoke. “You’re absolutely stunning, you have a gorgeous smile, and your laughter is contagious. Every time we our hands touch, I feel electricity shooting through me, and every time my lips touch you, it makes my heart flutter. So if you’re up for it, I’d like to get to know you better.”
