Heaving your last box into the new home, you let out a satisfied grunt. There were boxes piled up everywhere, in every room, every corner... wow, what a mess. Wiping some sweat from your forehead, you looked down at the box you previously dropped on the floor, you smiled warmly, bending over. You unfolded the flaps, just to reveal that the box was just... empty. A large, empty box. How strange. The reason it was empty was because as a child, you used to play pretend, make forts, invent things, and so many other things, with it! You didn't want to take away its previous usage, so you always kept it empty and put it right next to your nightstand by your bed, which was sitting upstairs in your new bedroom.
Your (e/c) eyes flicked over to a window close by, noticing the large building that neighbored yours. Quirking a brow, you stepped outside to get a better look at it. Plain, white brick with tinted windows. They must do weird things behind that door.. Biting softly at the inside of your cheek, you decided to pay them a visit. You stepped up to the door, curling your fingers into a fist. Right when you were going to knock.. you changed your mind. You should probably get to work on your house. Lets not put off things you could do today to tomorrow.
As you began to walk back to your house, you admired how beautiful it was. Pale maroon walls with brick edges and dark-dark teal roof riles. A small koi pond was on the left side of the porch, the small waterfall sending soothing noises into the atmosphere. The door was a nice cherry-wood with black-stained iron doorknobs. Smiling, you opened the double doors and stepped inside, closing them behind you quietly. As you entered the downstairs bathroom to place all the small objects and decorations, there was a knock at the door. Who could that be? You walked over to the door and peered through the peephole, seeing a younger, blonde male with large sunglasses, wearing a red sweatshirt. Flinging open the door, you gave a welcoming smile.
"Hi! You must be one of my new neighbors!" You cooed happily. The figure just ran his fingers through his hair, shrugging carelessly.
"Yeah, I guess." He snorted, flicking a piece of his messy hair from his face and adjusting his sunglasses. "Anyways, my brother thinks your hot." The boy bit his lip in order to hold back bursts of laughter, his nails gripping the fabric on the inside of his sweatshirt pocket. Your face grew slightly warm, and you rolled your eyes a bit, hoping this was just some sort of.. practical joke.
"Yeah right, kid.. anyways, I'm (y/n), and you are..?" You hissed, your own nails scratching at the clammy palms of your hands. The boy perked up, quirking one of his blonde brows. He removed his hands from his sweatshirt, clapping them together up by his abdomen. At this, you cringed your nose, taking a step back, making sure to be cautious.
"Think I'm kiddin', pal? How about you come over and ask him?.. and I'm Dave." He sneered, smirking a bit as if he had the upper-hand in this argument. You gave your eyes another roll, crossing your arms over your chest.
"How about you get him over here so he can tell me himself!" You finally responded, gritting your teeth. Dave let out a heavy sigh and shrugged carelessly, turning away from the door. With a grumble of curse words, he walked away, and you watched him walk back to the plain building. With a loud huff, you closed the door and stormed back to the bathroom, tearing open a box and setting up different decorations. Some candles on top of the toilet-tank, a nice bar of soap in a seashell holder, a small cup decorated with skulls, which held your toothbrushes and razors, and you placed all of your toiletries in the cabinet under the sink. Right when you were placing the last stick of deodorant, there was another knock at the door, causing you to jump and hit your head. Growling and rubbing the back of your head, you trekked back to the door and flung it open.
And there he was. A tall boy with pale blonde hair and anime, pointed sunglasses on the bridge of his nose. Gulping a bit at the boys expressionless face, he smiled warmly, trying to seem welcoming. Oh, there was the little bratt, just standing slyly behind his brother, smiling wildly.
"Go ahead, tell 'em, bro." Dave insisted. You toyed with your own fingers, biting the inside of your cheek. Honestly, you were pretty nervous on what the taller one's response would be, causing sweat to drizzle down from under your (h/c) hair.
"I'm Dirk." He said in a monotone voice, holding out his hand for a friendly shake. Hesitating before hand, you placed your damp palm against the others, shaking his hand. You were going to pull away from the awkward handshake, but he refused.. still gripping onto your hand.
"...and I think you're hot." Dirk added with a small smirk, but his voice was still blank.. although it did lift a bit at the end. Your face heated up, growing a bit visible, a very faint pink spreading on your cheeks. Quirking a brow, the taller let go of your hand, slipping it back to his side.
"Sorry to bother you." He spat before walking away, his shoulders slouching a bit. Dave shot you a harsh glare... well, you couldn't tell.. but his eyebrows were certainly showing anger. With a loud grunt, he turned and ran after his brother to comfort him. Watching them walk off, you closed the door and returned to the bathroom, finishing up the job by hanging up a framed FREE! poster on the wall opposite to the toilet. Now you could look at gay guys when you take a dump, how nice! But honestly.. you didn't want to look at some random men. You kinda wanted to look at that tall Dirk fellow again.. No! You're not falling in love with the brother of that bratt! Or... or are you? Gah, god dangit!
