Bestfriend & Me

-CHAPTER 1-

#Luce

Trying to be notice by the person you like is not an easy task. Furthermore, the person that you yearn silently is actually your bestfriend ever since you know how to smile at people. Yeah, I'm talking about a girl name Luce which happen to be me, who have a one sided ever love with my life long bestfriend Zack.

Zack and I never feel discomfort around each other. We banter almost all of our time together. Since he have a pretty girlfriend Sherene, they always bring me nearly everywhere they go on their holidays together. Not that I do not know that its like I'm the third wheel but Zack will never want to go without me and Sherene have to live with it. I pity Sherene because I know even though she do not mind, she still want to be alone with Zack without me but it can just happen when we go to bed. Of course I will not share room with them, euw!

I try to hide my jelousy and burried it deep inside my heart everytime they are together. After all, I am just his bestfriend.

Sherene does not feel threaten by me even a pinch since I am this nerd girl with breaded hair and big reading glasses who enjoy reading books wherever I can. Zack always said "Start using contact lenses, Luce! Those glasses is like my grandmother's reading glasses. What are you afraid of?"

I just shrugged off whenever he utter those lame jokes. Zack does know that I am afraid of putting something in my eyes. Especially that something is contact lenses. I can imagine that if it stuck inside my eyes and I will turn blind forever.

"Call me a grandmother, a paranoia, a lamer and anything you want but it is forever a No No for contact lenses" I wiggle my second finger which happen to be my habit everytime I say no.

I open my front door with a lazy hand and go straight to my room. The classes today were pretty much boring me to death. I, Luce never have interest in History and Geography and that two subject managed to kill my soul every Thursday. The moment I entered my room I just throw my bag at the corner of my room and went straight to land on my queen size bed, my one and the only thing that make me happy because it did accompany me everyday since beside reading, sleeping is my other passion. I did not even bother to take off my socks and next thing I know is I already go into my dreamland.

#Zack

The football practise was rough today since it is near the tournament season. I really need a shower since I feel so sticky and stinky of sweat smell at the same time but I just directly drive back after practice to Luce's house. I just ignored my teammates shouts asking me to go to the bar with them because there are new hosts hired by our favourite bar. They knew that I will not go anywhere on Thursday since it is my routine to go hanging out with my bestfriend. It is not a must and we never made it as a promise we should keep but I made it a promise to myself. Thursday is Luce's day. Even Sherene at first could not take it and we had a big fight at the beginning of our dating days, luckily it did not bothered her anymore.

Once I park my motorbike in the garrage I can see Luce's Smart is already there and it made me smiling involuntarily. She is home and I can spend our Thursday together as always. I bring along a Thailand ghost movie that I bought when I was out dating with Sherene yesterday.

"It is a ghost story, dear. You know you cannot force me to watch it, don't you?" Sherene's forehead crooked when she saw that I picked the movie from the shop's shelve.

"I did not even said I wanna watch it with you, babe. I'm gonna watch it with Luce tomorrow. I know you hate ghost stories and I am a considerate boyfriend, remember?"

"But is Luce not scared of ghost movies? This looks extreme dear." Sherene flip the cover and read the synopsis. I just answered her with a smile.

Remembering my conversation with Sherene yesterday made me smile. Luce has to agree to watch this movie with me because last week she already tormented me by watching a sad Korean drama 16 episodes in a row! We spent 16 hours watching it non stop and she did agreed to watch anything I want if I watch that drama with her and well, it's pay back time.
