-CHAPTER 3-

Struggling to sleep on my own bed is so frustrating. Luce's voice keep on replaying non stop in my head.

"As in you will be with me all the time. I do believe that you will abandon me for Sherene later on during our vacation. She is your girlfriend, duh..."

The word abandon, Sherene and girlfriend eating me from the inside. Will I be able to mask my true feeling that I have for her any longer? The way she talk about abandoning her was so casual like she do not care about it at all. Rolling to the other side of my bed, I take my handphone and decided to text Sherene to inform her before I forgot.

'Hey babe, my family want to go for summer holiday in Paris. We would like to invite you along. We can bring Damian since Luce gave her quota to me' and I click send button. Right about I just land myself back on my bed a text come in.

'Z, are you serious baby? OMG, am SO EXCITED!Love you!'

I didn't even bother to reply since I know she will squel non stop when she pop up in front of my house first thing in the morning. Since my parents are back I'm staying in my own room for tonight until their next abroad business. I feel so empty and uncomfortable laying on my own bed. I keep on rolling on the bed and after one hour passed and my eyes are still as fresh as ever, I decided to go for a quick run even if it's past midnight.

Running is the only way I can tire myself and fall asleep the moment I return home. As I ran passing Luce's house which located near the junction at the end of our neighborhood road I can see her bedroom's light is still there. I took out my phone and begin texting her.

'Hey Lu, still up?'

I'm standing in front of her room from the outside and my phone beeping with reply from her.

'Yeah. You know I will always need to readjust whenever you go back to your house so here I am still trying to fall asleep. what's up? Having trouble sleeping?'

Her fast reply shows how fresh her head from feeling sleepy that I can sure myself.

'Look outside of the window now  grandmother.'

Not even a minute I can see her shadow in front of the window and second later her head pop up.

"What's wrong,Z? It's past midnight." Luce bending her body on the window and yell-whisper so that her parents are not disturb by the sound.

"May I come in?"I can just smile trying to make as innocent face as possible while rubbing my head.

"It's practically your house as well. There's no need to ask for permission to enter and just come in." Luce answer in a duh tone.

"I forgot to bring my key. Open the door for me please." With that immediately I saw Luce taking a deep breath and exhale it dramatically.

"You are hopeless, Z. Give me 30 second to reach the door." She left once she finish her sentence. She just left the window open and came down to open the door for me.

"Sorry Lu I couldn't fall asleep. I'm as fresh as ever." I offer her a full smile since I couldn't hide my excitement.

"Yeah, I know. Come up." She answered in a bored tone and I followed her slowly into her room.

"Did you let Martha or Gareth know that you come here?" She sigh when she saw me shook my head to indicate that I did not let my parents know.

"Text Martha, Z. You do not want her to send a search team to search for you right?" Luce went back under her comforter and laying down comfortably while her eye stares at me waiting for me to send message to my mother. knowing what she said is true I took out my phone and text her so that she will not get shock when she check on me and see I'm not there.
