I follow Luhan out of the room, he leads me down a long, dimly lit hallway. Eventually, we end up in front of a bullet proof door. Luhan pulls an access card out of his suit pocket. After the small machine grants his access card, the enormous door opens, revealing a chamber with every type of weapon there is. I let out a small gasp of amazement, Luhan replies by laughing and advancing to the gun section of the chamber,
"Come on Sehun, keep up." Luhan continues, "I know this place is fascinating, but we have work to do. You can play with the weapons on your own time."
I quickly follow Luhan to the gun section, grabbing the first gun that catches my eye, an alluring SRR-61,
"Want to be a sniper, I see?" Luhan says, watching my every move carefully,
"Do I look like the type of person who can handle close combat?" I reply back,
Luhan let's out a laugh "Nothing I can't fix." Pausing, he says, "Well, you've made your choice. We need to get to work now. Your first mission is next Tuesday." Nearly whispering the last sentence in hopes I wouldn't hear,
I reply, practically yelling, "That's eleven days from now! There's no way I can learn everything in eleven days!"
Luhan continues to walk out of the weapon chamber, ignoring all of my concerns. I abide, following him to the next destination. We walk down multiple hallways, every person we pass is dressed in a thousand dollar suit with some type of weapon, all nodding to Luhan as they walk by. One tall, buff man kept a greataxe strapped to his back, careful not to make eye contact I pretend to admire the maroon walls. Luhan stops in front of a colossal, bullet proof double door. Taking out his access card, the double doors open to reveal a shooting range. A man in a dark gray suit greets Luhan at the door,
"Phantom, I see you've brought your apprentice," Looking at my gun choice, he continues, "Follow me to the sniping range."
We follow the man up three flights of stairs to a gun range the size of a football field. Luhan leads me to the last shooting stall,
"I always go to the last stall, I consider it lucky." Luhan says as he continues forward,
"But there's already someone there," I say, "Let's use the third stall instead." I point to the empty shooting stall,
Luhan advances to the last stall, ignoring my pledge completely. The man at the stall walks away quietly once he sees Luhan, with his head hanging low. Incredible, I think to myself, Phantom is only a few years older than me, yet holds this much power. I stand the SRR-61 on the sandbag and aim it at a brick 120 yards away. Pulling the trigger, the gun recoils and hits me in the shoulder. I grab my shoulder in pain as Luhan laughs at my agony,
"You'll get used to it." Luhan says as he passes me a shoulder pad.
I grab the shoulder pad from him in exchange for a dirty look. With the shoulder pad on, I pull the trigger once again, the bullet landing just a few inches away from the brick. From the corner of my eye I see Luhan drop his head in defeat.
"Come on, I wasn't even that far off." I say in my own defense,
Luhan pushes me out of the way, "Let the marvelous Phantom show you how its done,"
I roll my eyes in response. Watching Luhan's every move, he hits the brick right in the center. I hold back my gasp of amazement, careful not to add to his already huge ego. Luhan gestures for me to try again. I walk over to the gun, pressing my shoulder against the stock and aiming down the scope. Between breaths, I pull the trigger. The bullet hits the tip of the brick,
"Getting better... But still not good enough." Luhan pauses to turn and grab more ammo from the crate, "Here's some more ammo, I have some work I need to take care of. You stay here and practice."
"Work to take care of? Are you going on a mission?" I reply intrigued,
"Yes, Sehun" Luhan responds giggling,
"Can I come and watch?" I ask, trying to sound the least bit like a five year old as possible,
Luhan lets out a laugh, "Practice tonight, if you can hit eight in a row, you can have the sniper spot for tomorrow nights mission."
I watch Luhan as he walks back to the stairwell. Once I can no longer see him, I reload my gun and continue practicing. Four hits, four misses. This could be a long night.
