Chapter 3: Parties & Confrontations
Jenny Bleu's POV
It had been less than a week since Jesse basically moved in with me when Jason broke his ankle, making Jesse have to go back home to take care of his brother. It sucked being alone, but I found ways to keep myself occupied.
I was sat on the window seat in my bedroom, reading a really good book I bought yesterday. As the plot heightened and I became completely engrossed, obnoxious laughter rang from Ryder's open window. I turned slightly, peeking over my book to see what was going on without being caught looking.
Someone was hanging out of his window with a bottle in their hand. Why? I don't know. That's when I noticed the music blasting, the bass shaking the ground. I rolled my eyes. Ryder was throwing another one of his infamous parties. I reached up to shut my window when the person hanging out of his window was pulled inside and another head popped out, looking right at me.
"Aw, don't shut your window, Princess, I was just about to invite you to my party," Ryder called, his words slurring. I sighed. No matter how much I hated him, it hurt me when I saw him drinking as heavily as he did at these idiotic parties.
"Tempting, but no," I called back, pulling my window shut and locking it. He pouted, then flicked me off. I just smiled before closing my curtains. I grabbed my book and took it to the living room. At least the window in there didn't face Ryder's.
After an hour of reading, I decided I should make myself something to eat. I first plugged my phone into my stereo and blasted my playlist filled with my favorite songs to drown out the obnoxious drunken laughter outside. I danced around my kitchen, singing loudly as I made myself a salad to go along with grilled chicken.
I guess you could say I was one of those health freaks. I ate healthy, most of the time, and exercised everyday. Staying fit was one of my priorities in life. The other was getting all A's in school, which I had accomplished every year since kindergarten. I was really hoping to get into a good college.
Once my food was ready, I took it into the living room and switched on my favorite show, The 100. It was so exciting and adventurous and I loved it.
I heard sirens and smirked. I hoped Ryder went to jail for throwing a party with underage drinkers, even though I knew he wouldn't. Suddenly, someone was pounding at my front door. I groaned, trying to decide if I should get it or pretend not to be home. I ended up choosing to answer it, in case it was the police. I trudged to the door, very self conscious that I was only wearing spandex and a sports bra. I hoped to find a jacket lying in the living room but alas had no such luck.
I opened the door slightly, hiding my hardly clothed self. I gasped to see Ryder standing on my front porch.
"What are you doing here?" I growled. He pushed the door open easily and squeezed past me.
"Someone called the police and I needed," he hiccuped, "a place to hide." He was slurring even more than before. My eyes narrowed.
"And why the hell would you think I'd let you hide here?"
"Because you love me," he stated, grinning sloppily. I burst into laughter.
"In your dreams, RyRy." He glared at me. "Get out of here. You aren't welcome." I grabbed his arm, trying to drag him out the door, but even when he was drunk he was much stronger than I was. He towered over me, swaying slightly.
"Please, Princess, I'm desperate," he begged, his eyes wide and almost innocent-looking, but I knew that was just an act. I sighed, hating myself for what I was about to say.
