Matt Collins, famous quarterbacker on the football team, even though we are in 9th grade he was so good that he already has a spot on senior team. He's not only known for his football skills, he also has every girl falling for him. If he wanted, he could have any girl in the school.
Which is why I'm standing here confused, as Matt Collins is standing in front of MY locker, asking ME out. I think I'm good looking, but not so good looking that Matt would have any interest in me at all.
I'm shocked to say the least, I don't even know how to respond as he stands there with hope filled in his eyes and giving me one of his amazing smiles. I manage to say,"What?"
He repeats himself,"Will you go out with me tonight?"
"I think you have me mixed up with someone else."
He laughs,"No I don't, your Tara Jacobs, am I right?"
I smile and say,"Yes, but I have loads of work tonight and I would it's just school comes first."
"Oh that's alright, how about tomorrow?"
"School night."
"This weekend?"
"You aren't really going to give up, are you?"
"I've been trying to work up the nerve to ask you out since middle school and shit I can't believe I just said that."
I smile closing my locker and turn to face him,"Fine."
He claps his hands together in joy and says,"Really? Well then I'll pick you up at 6 on Friday?"
I nod my head and he smiles,"Great I can't wait, can I walk you to class?"
"Um sure."
He smiles brightly and says while grabbing my books,"Here let me get that for you."
I smile at his gesture we walk to my class he makes conversation and it's not a slight bit awkward. He just feels right we make it to my class and I say,"Thank you, I will see you on Friday."
He waves goodbye and I enter the class getting a major stare down from my best friend, Emma. She motions me to sit by her and she says with total excitement,"Was that Matt Collins!?!?"
I nod fastly with my head and say still shocked,"He asked me out."
She does a silent scream and I do one too we both smile and laugh at each other. I say,"Hes picking me up at 6 on Friday."
"OMG! You guys would look so cute together. Im glad he finally got the nerve to ask you out."
I ask instantly,"You knew?"
"Oh come one Tara he practically drools at the sight of you."
I look at her as if she was just lying,"Yeah right."
She puts her hands up in defence,"Im serious I swear to you."
The teacher tells everyone to take their seats and our conversation ends I smile thinking of how Matt Collins really did like me.
******************************** Friday comes and I'm panicking out on what to wear and what to do. This is my first date and I don't even know where we are going. I quickly text Emma.
Me- Em! I need you it's an emergency!
Not even a a second later she responds instantly.
Emma- I'll be right there!
Me- Just come right in
Its 4 o'clock now and he said he would pick me up at 6. Just as she said a few minutes later I hear the door open and her stomping up the stairs. She comes into my room with her makeup bag and says,"Don't worry no more, for Emma is here! Now come on babe lets go through your closet."
After maybe 20 minutes she finally picked out an absolutely cute first date outfit.

She pushes me into my personal bathroom with the outfit telling me to hurry. I look at the dress and I'm amazed that I had this in my closet. I slip the dress and step outside for her approval.
She squeals and runs over to me,"All you need is some makeup and your hair done. Then Matt will never want to take his eyes off of you the whole night."
After maybe an hour of Emma fixing me up she stands back from me stares at me with awe. I stand up and do a little twirl then I stop at the mirror and I can admit that I do look pretty hot.
"Damn Emma you made me look hot, thank you!"
I run over to her and hug her she says,"Now all you have to do wait, I'll be on my way--"
Then she's interrupted by a doorbell I run over to my phone to check the time it read 5:57.
We both look at each other and she says,"What you doing just standing there!? Go! He awaits you darling."
I shake my head,"I'm really nervous can you walk me out?"
She smacks my arm lightly,"There's no time for being nervous. Now come on I'll walk you down and give him the rules."
She grabs my hands and drags me downstairs to the front door. She motions me to open the door and I do, Damen stands there in a cute outfit. A black and white strip shirt, a black jacket, and simple black jeans.

He coughs and I blush in embarrassment as he caught me checking him out. Then Emma pops her head around the door and says all sweet,"Hey there Matt. Now I want her back here by 10,"then her voice turns serious,"If you break her I will rip off your balls and shove it down your throat."
She walks pass him and smiles sweetly,"Okay you two have fun by not too much fun."
She walks home, but the expression on Matt's face was priceless. I couldn't help but laugh,"I'm sorry about her, so uh where we going?"
He says,"Its a surprised," he extends his arm,"Shall we?"
"We shall," and I take my arm and wrap it around his.
We walk down the road, side by side as we start walking longer I know where we are going. But I dont tell him that.
After 20 lovely minutes of walking we make it to Archies, a mini golf course. I smile in joy,"I love mini golfing! I'm the best in my family."
"Is that so? It just so happens that I'm also the best in my family."
