Twisted Fate

Chapter 1

Scarlett opened her eyes to see the white ceiling over her bed. As she got up, she looked over to see her twin sister, Evelyn, going through her drawer. "What are you doing Evelyn?"

Evelyn didn't even glance up, "You were taking too long to get up so I'm packing your clothes for you."

Scarlett slowly lifted her covers up and got up out of her warm comfy bed. "I can pack my own clothes Eve." Evelyn continued packing the clothes in the drawer into a dark blue bag.

"What time is it?" "Time for you to start packing."

Scarlett rolled her eyes and walked over to her mirror. She grabbed what she needed but as she walked away, she glanced into the mirror. Scarlett has beautiful curly scarlett red hair; which is what she was named after. Scarlett and Evelyn had the same blue-grey eyes but Evelyn has dark brown hair and is also shorter than her sister. Evelyn packed her owl named Midnight; she is a gorgeous midnight black owl. Scarlett's owl is as white as the snow and is named Snowball.

Both of the girls finished off their packing and left their bags at the top of the stairs since the house elf will get them. The girls currently live with their Aunt Julianna in London because their mother has become a drunkard and her sister wanted to keep an eye on her. Scarlett and Evelyn have an older brother named Demetri but, he for some odd reason, hates the twins and their mother. Their mother is named Rohesia but after their father was sent to Azkaban she became colder and more manipulative.

The girls walked to the long dining room table where their mother, aunt, and older brother sat eating breakfast. "Good morning Scarlett, good morning Evelyn." acknowledged Aunt Julianna.

"Good morning." chorused the girls together.

It was dead silent as they ate their bacon and eggs that were cooked by the house-elves. Their aunt was giving them a scrutinizing gaze, "Are you girls excited about Hogwarts?"

"Yes." Again they chorused together.

Rohesia looked up at them with a glare, "You will get into the Slytherin house. Our whole family has been in that house and you three will not ruin it."

The girls looked at their mother and then to their brother who was glaring his mother down. It was his first time going to Hogwarts because he went to the school in America but now he will start in his 3rd year.

Julianna looked at the grandfather clock against the wall, "Well it looks like it's time to go."

The girls got up and joined their brother who was standing by the door. Julianna looked at her sister and asked, "Are you coming?" "No."

Evelyn looked down thinking, 'Of course she wouldn't come.' Evelyn yearns to get her mothers attention but sadly her attention is always on Scarlett although Scarlett doesn't want that attention.

Their Aunt Julianna held out her arm and they all grabbed on and apparate to King's Cross Station.

There was a beautiful red train with all sorts of people bustling around. Julianna hugged all three of the children and kissed them on the head. "Send me a letter after your're sorted. I expect you all to come for Christmas break."

Scarlett looked over to see her brother already getting on the train, so her and Evelyn quickly got on and picked a random empty compartment. "Are you alright Evelyn?" Scarlett noticed Evelyn had a dissapointed look earlier.

"Yes."

"Don't worry about mom."

"Easy for you to say, she doesn't ignore your existence."
