Random Tuesday at The Rage (Rydel's POV)
"Ok class! Quiet down please I have an announcement" said Mrs. Grace "Starting next week we will be working with Mrs. Ratliff's class. We are going to put on a recital in a month and a half. We have already picked your partners. Percy and Annabeth, Adrien and Marinette, Nino and Alya, Travis and Katie, Plagg and Tikki, Frank and Hazel, Matt and Roselinda, Ellington and Rydel."
I couldn't believe it! Not only did I know the person I was paired with, he was my crush! This was going to be a daydream and a nightmare all at the same time!
A week later Mrs. Grace's class was quietly discussing recital themes while waiting for Mrs. Ratliff's class to arrive. They had just decided on a theme when Mrs. Ratliff and her class walked in and sat down.
"We have decided that the recital's theme will be 'Just A Daydream Away'." Said Mrs.Grace
"Gentlemen you will be wearing black suit-like costumes except Ellington will be wearing white. ladies you will be wearing white dresses except Rydel will be wearing black." Said Mrs. Ratliff.
I froze. Ratliff and I would stand out from the others. What if I tripped?What if I forgot the routine?
Rosalinda put a hand on my shoulder, reassuring me "everything will be fine" she said "you're gonna do great Delly!"
I nodded, looking around the room to see everyone smiling excitedly. One person in particular caught my eye, his smile lighting up the room. Ellington had a huge smile on his face, looking at me. I blushed.
"We don't have much time before the recital" said Mrs. Grace. "So each of you please discuss with your partner a time when you can meet up and practice before next week" finished Mrs. Ratliff
Once class was over I looked over and saw Ellington walking towards me. I quickly finish packing up my things and stand up just as he walks up to me.
"Hi Rydel"
"Hey Ellington"
"So when do you want to meet up?"
"What works best for you?"
"Does Friday work? Around two?"
"Friday sounds perfect, my house or yours?"
"Mine if you don't mind"
"Sounds great!"
"Awesome see you Friday!" he says as he walks away
"See you friday" I whisper as he left.
