                                                                                        *************

                                                                                Okeanos' Perspective

I've been here for as long as I could remember. This chain has dug into my ankle so far it's practically my skin by now. Ares is okay, considering he is my uncle. He's been feeding me, but little enough that I have been drastically been losing weight for years now. Same old, same old, day after day, same routine, I guess. I guess you'd say this is boring, yeah it is. It's pretty lonely down in my cell. No one I can socialize with, no one to educate me, except for Uncle Ares. He has taught me basic things, like math and english, but nothing special. I cannot seem to remember my parent's, Uncle Ares told me they are cruel people, he says that my parents are the people who don't really care for me, but I cannot believe that. My parent's should have cared for me at least a little. I can imagine my parent's being better than HIM. But, he does tell me stories about my dad. He said when they were younger, that they never wanted to be apart, until my dad "betrayed" him. I always ask how, but he never wants to explain in detail what actually happened. It makes me question him. What is he hiding?

I wake up the same way I always do. On the dirty, warm floor. But something is different, there is a lot of noise coming from the exit corridor. I hear Uncle Ares' voice.

"Stop squirming, nothing can help now. Plus you might like your cellmate."

New cellmate? What can he mean by "new cellmate"? Wait. Does he mean the fire centipedes he told me about last night? No! I hate those things. So creepy with fire sparks. I feel like cringing. I'm getting ahead of myself. Just then the cell door opens and a body flies to the ground. It looked like a girl, but I couldn't make out right away.

"You won't get away with this Ares." A feminine voice calls out.

Ok, so she is a girl. Ares walks away laughing. The girl starts pounding against the bars angrily. Did Ares kidnap her? I wonder.

Once she starts to calm down, I ask, "A little help here?" She stares at me.

"Oh. OK."

She crawls over to my ankle and starts to work on it. I get a glimpse of her face, She has long black hair, and her eyes. Her eyes were a golden brown that I can't describe. The light caught them perfectly and made them shine. I started to feel my face getting hot. Trying not to look red, I looked away shyly. I've never been this close to a girl. Actually I've never been around a girl. What should I say? Should I speak? I don't know! When I was about to open my mouth, she smashed the chain with a rock.

"Wow. Thank you," I say.

Before I could away, our eyes met.

"Oh. It's no problem. I'm used to unlocking locks, don't ask."

"I...Im Okeanos, Okeanos Waters."

Oh no. I stuttered. What is wrong with me?

"Are you feeling ok?"

"W...why do you ask?" Darn it, I did it again.

"You're...you're stuttering."

"R...really?" Dang, I really suck at talking to girls.

"N...nevermind." She says. "I'm Alex. Short for Alexandra Osiris. Don't call me that or I swear I will kill you..."

Oh, so she is a feisty one. I like it. She really is beautiful. Oh no I'm blushing again. Stop it Okeanos, keep it cool and fresh. You got this.

"So..." I say. "What are you in for?"

"None of your business, thanks."

"Ok. Sorry." I drop the subject.

She turns away quickly trying not to make things awkward. I can't quite read her facial expressions but it seemed as if she was starting to cry. Tears were welling up and they started to fall down on her cheeks. She may seem like a tough girl, but underneath all of that makeup, I know there is a broken heart.

"Hey, Alex, are...are you alright?" I ask nervously.

"Oh." Her tears roll away. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine."

"What's going on?"

Tears start rolling off of her face.

"I guess I just miss my family. I know that I've only been gone for about an hour, but I just miss them so much."

"I'm sorry to hear that. I know how you feel," I say.

"What...what do you mean?"

"I have been stuck here for fourteen years of my life. Besides Uncle Ares, you are the second person I have ever talked to..."

"Wait," she stops me in mid-sentence.

"Uncle Ares? He's your uncle?"

"Yeah, he's the brother of my dad, Poseidon."

"Wow, so you've never seen your family in years, huh?"

"Yeah, I was getting pretty lonely, until you came."

She smiles at me. Wait. She smiled at ME. Oh my gosh! Yes! I have never been so happy in my life! What was I talking about? Oh right, the story.

Days go by, and my feelings for Alex grow even stronger. We start talking more, but nothing too personal. She doesn't want to talk about her life, and I practically don't have one so... yeah.
