Chapter 8

I'm such a horrible person for not posting in so long so please don't hate me. I got inspired so I'm gonna keep going. I love y'all if you've stuck around. Here's chapter 8.....finally!

So we failed at trying to drop Katie off at her house due to her mom not being there I didn't want to leave her there by herself. So we decided not to, we thought about what we could do to pass the time.

We decided to go to the mall and buy a few outfits for school, more like retail therapy because I still felt like I was being watched or followed, but it didn't feel like a bad feeling it felt familiar to me. We got to the food court after buying a few outfits and decided to grab some pizza.

"Hey Jacie, do you remember Casin from middle school" I hear Breanna ask, I looked up at her with question all over my face, "who's Casin"? I hear Nisha ask teasingly.

"Well, Casin and Jacie were the best of friends back in the day, they were inseparable and it drove our parents crazy and this was in middle school, well the time of puberty happened and we all grew up" she said as she looked between Nisha and Katie.

I didn't know how I felt about her telling this story, I hadn't thought about Casin in a really long time. I looked up at the girls and listened to Bre tell her story.

"We started our first day of Freshmen year and everything changed, Casin started to grow a crush on Jacie, and Jacie grew a crush on the ever so hot Jacob Madden, but I talked to Casin a few times about it and he didn't think Jacie would want him anyways" she then turned to me, "he thought you deserved something great and he figured Jacob was that something great"

I looked at her and realized she had pitty and sadness on her face. Katie looked between us frantically,"well, what happened to him" she asked as Nisha was waiting for the same answer. "He moved away after our freshmen year" I said as my heart broke a little bit, just like it did when he left.

"He didn't say goodbye to her, he just up and left" Bre explained to the girls, "he had called me that morning and said goodbye, and asked me to tell Jacie" I could hear the crack in her voice, just like the day it happened. She felt guilty about how she didn't make him do it, or how devastated I was when I found out.

"Well this is why we don't talk about it anymore" I said as I looked around the depressed table. "Movie anyone"?

We finally left the theater and were on our way to my car when I saw a familiar car in the lot. "Well look who it is" I hear Jacobs voice and smiled, I turned to look at him and smile, "what's up Madden" I said trying not to sound to happy to see him, even though it was a big fib.

"What are you doing here ladies" he asked flashing the dazzling smile he had, I realized he didn't actually know 2 out of 4 of us. "We were here shopping and we watched a movie" I said as he nodded, then I realized he was looking at Nisha and Katie confused, "Oh, Madden this is Katie and Nisha" I said as I was pretty aware that they knew him.

We made small talk then decided we wanted to leave so we went our separate ways. "So, Breanna do you still keep in touch with Casin" she asked, it was a question I don't think I ever thought to ask her myself, or maybe I didn't want to know the answer.

"Every now and then, he will email me to ask how everyone has been" she said making me cringe. I didn't hate him, I mean he was my best friend and I missed him a lot, but I didn't hate him. I hated how he left without saying goodbye.

"The last time I talked to him was a couple of days ago and that's why I brought it up earlier" she said as she gave me an apologetic smile.

I couldn't blame her for hiding it, I was upset for months about him leaving and I guess it came off as resentment. "Bre, it's fine that you talk to him really it is, and I'm glad he's doing ok" I told her reassuringly.

"So what did he say" Nisha asked curiously, I had pulled into Katie's drive way at the point so I could finally face her without fear of hitting someone. Her eyes got kinda wide, then she relaxed and continued her words, "just the normal, asking how everyone is, saying he misses it here" she seemed like she was hiding something but I didn't feel like forcing it out of her.

We finally got to Breanna's house with Nisha in tow, we walked up to Bre's door and waited for her to unlock the door, an action that seemed to take forever, "Breanna I love you but if you don't open the damn door I'm gonna use you to busy it open" I said as she finally put the key in the lock.

We finally got into her house and I made my way up to her room with Nisha while she got snacks for us. Nisha opened the door and flipped on the lights as I got ahold on the bags I had in my hands, "Jacie, you might need to come see this" I hear Nisha say, "what did you find her stash of weed" I asked laughing my ass off, as I looked at her my smile faded.

I didn't understand, I followed her gaze and finally realized what she was looking at.

"Casin"?
