Chapter 9

CC's POV

I walked down the hall and saw Ashley leaning against the wall with a sorrow look on his face, staring off into space. I was about to walk by when he stopped me.

Remembering that he was the reason Bre left me anger quickly replaced the sadness I felt before.

"Move" I said looking him in the eyes.

"No. I need to talk to you."

"I don't care. My girlfriend left because of you!" My voice began to rise and I took a step closer to him. As he took a step back sorrow and worry flashed across his face. As quickly as it came it disappeared. I shoved my way past him to the door leading outside, got in my car and drove home.

Once I was home and in my room I immediately collapsed on the bed and soon fell asleep feeling exhausted from everything that happened today.

My phone went off in my pocket waking me up. As I looked at the calllet ID it said unknown. hesitantly I answered.

"Hello?"

Bre's POV

I had been driving for several hours now. I was in the middle of no where at another rest stop. I've passed through Arizona and was now somewhere in New Mexico. I checked my phone for messages but I had no service. I saw a payphone and walked over to it pulling out some coins from my pocket as I did so. After some thinking I put the coins in and dialed a number that I knew by heart. The ringback started playing and it brought back so many great memories that a smile was on my face as I patiently waited for him to answer. I was deep in though when I heard his voice.

"Hello?" I didn't answer.

"Who's this? How did you get my number?" I still didn't answer, hearing his voice brought tears back to my eyes.

"Bre is this you? Where are you? Please answer me..etc me hear your voice. Please." He started begging. I could hear the tears in his own voice.

"I'm in the middle of no where. I'm not going to tell you what state." I waited for an answer.

"Why wont you tell me? Why did you leave?" More questions that I had to answer but couldn't bring myself to do so.

"I'm sorry but I can't answer your questions right now." More tears fell from my eyes.

"Well can you...try to answer my next question?" He hesitated probably fighting back sobs or something.

"Maybe,what is it?" My voice cracked a little knowing that the conversation will end and I didn't want it to. There was a slight pause at the end.

"When will you be back?" We were both crying now. I hated this question the most out of the others he's asked.

"...I-I don't k-know" I said barely above a whisper. As soon as I said that more tears fell. I could hear him crying on the other end. A recorded message played suddenly and told us that we only had 5 minutes left.

" CC...I love you and I hope that one day we could be together again." He responded without a seconds hesitation.

"I love you too my fallen angel. Please hurry and come back to me when your ready. Ok?" I smiled at the fact that he called me his 'fallen angel' and more tears fell.

"Ok. But I can't promise that I'll be back by a certain time."

"I respect that but promise that you'll come back to me."

"I promise. I'll always love you and you'll forever be my destroyer."

"I'll forever love you and you'll always be my fallen angel."

We got out out last goodbyes before the phone line went completely silent because of time running out. I slowly hung up the phone and got into my car and drove away.

I've been driving for hours so u stopped in a small town and checked into a hotel for the night. I don't know where I'm going but I just keep driving. Driven on by a feeling that I can't explain, that's telling me to keep driving no matter what until I get to my unknown destination.

The next morning I woke up early like I have been lately and quickly got dressed. Within less than an hour I found myself back on the road heading north.
