The young boy ran through the village, chasing down a squirrel for dinner. It was a good find, a nice fat one.
"Oof!" yelled the boy.

"Woah there boy, whats the hurry?" the stranger asked.

Tears come to the boy's eyes.

"Dinner's getting away!"
The stranger turns and watches the squirrel run away. the stranger chuckles a low comforting chuckle.

"Poor kid, need some food?" asks the stranger kindly.

The child nods his head.

The stranger turns to the merchant to the left.

"Meat, bread and water please."

The merchant obediently returns with the order. The stranger takes the food to the child.

"Eat, you need strength." the stranger urges the child.

The boy looks at the food suspiciously. He takes a small bite, then hurriedly shoves the food in his mouth.

The stranger smiles warmly. " Where are your parents? " asks the stranger.

" They went away. Daddy said he needed to get some money, and rode off to another village and mummy fell over and didn't get back up." the child replies innocently.

The stranger grimaces at the child's sad story.

"It doesn't matter, I'm going to be known as the scariest man in the kingdom when I grow up!"
The child exclaims enthusiastically.

" Haha, are you now?" the stranger asks.

"Yup! And I'm gonna have lots of women, and big muscles, and a great big sword!" the child says.

The stranger pauses for the child to finish eating.

" My name is Saryss the Traveller." says Saryss.

" My name is Kalen, and I will be feared throughout the Kingdom!"
