8 years ago;

A small brunette boy stood nervously outside his new summer camp. The old, wooden sign reading Kamp Kyojin hung proudly over the little boy's head. He eagerly tugged at his mothers hand, urging her forwards into the camp.

The woman laughed. It was a silky and  beautiful sound that bubbled out of her throat. "Ok, ok, I'm coming." She replied to her son, who by now was bursting with excitement.

"But mommy, I neeeed to find Armin and 'Kasa before they forget about me!" He whined in worry. Carla just chuckled at her son's childishness.

"Oh honey, I don't think they would forget about you." The little boy, Eren, just pouted at his mothers response.

Carla and her husband, Grisha, had thought it would be a good idea to send Eren to a summer camp after much convincing from Eren's side. After all, his two best friends were going so he had to go.

Eren stopped tugging on his mothers arm to gasp at the sight in front of them. "Wow!" He exclaimed excitedly.
He stared at at the large layout of many log cabins and activity buildings.

Kamp Kyojin was known for its 'outdoorsy-ness' and natural beauty. It lay in the middle of a huge forest, with huge trees. It was said to be a really great camp, for all species and races, although it was quite unknown.

The duo made their way towards the main hall, where the campers were being dropped off and assigned to cabins.

Carla squeezed Eren's hand tightly and furrowed her brows. She knew he could look after himself, he was 8 years old after all, but it was natural for a shifter parent to be concerned about her pup. Yes, she was a canine-shifter while Grisha was a Werewolf. Eren hadn't presented his race yet, he only would at age 15, but they expected him to take after his father.

They didn't know how wrong they were.

Once they entered the busy main hall, Carla let go of her son's hand and kissed him on the head and ruffled his messy, brunette locks.

"Remember Eren, don't let them bully you ok? Stand up for yourself like I taught you...." She paused, thinking, "and most importantly have fun! I love you very much."

Eren gave her his most determined look and put his hands on his chest and back in a sort of mock salute. "Yes ma'am! I won't let you down!" He then proceeded rush forwards to hug her and burry his face in her tummy.

"I love you too, mommy." Came a muffled voice as he peeked up from her stomach. The shifter looked down into mismatched eyes and her features softened.

Eren had heterochromia iridium, which caused him to have two different colored eyes. One a vibrant gold and the other a mesmerizing blue-green. Unfortunately, no matter how beautiful his eyes were, he had always been bullied for being different.

Eren watched his mother leave before hoisting the too-big, green backpack onto his small shoulders and running off to find his friends.

Eren searched for them, but couldn't seem to locate his friends. He huffed in childish annoyance and went to look somewhere else, when his eyes caught sight of someone sitting by themselves in a corner.

Being the good-hearted and brave boy he was, he approached the figure as confidently as he could. As he neared the figure, he saw it was a little boy that looked to be around his age, maybe younger, with pitch black hair styled into a military-like undercut. He had sharp, defined features and striking grey eyes.

With a toothy grin, Eren held his hand out towards the lonely-looking boy.

"Hello! My name is Eren! You look lonely, do you wanna be my friend?"

The other boy's face was emotionless as he studied Eren's hand. His steel eyes flickered from his hand to his face, and was immediately drawn into mismatched eyes. His breath caught in his throat. They were beautiful. Why was someone this beautiful talking to him? Let alone offering to be his friend? The boy reached out his pale hand and placed it in a tan one, and with a smooth, slightly deep, emotionless voice, replied;

"Levi."

As the days progressed, Eren and Levi became good friends, and soon, Levi started hanging out with Eren's little gang. Which included; Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and now, Levi.

At the moment, the group was situated in a small playground the camp owned, obviously for the younger children. The brunette was sitting on a wooden swing, clutching the silver chains in his small hands while rocking back and forth on it.

Levi sat under a large oak tree that stood next to ( and above ) the playground, and Armin and Mikasa were in the sand pit behind the swings.

Eren hummed a short note. "Y'know, when I present, I'm gonna be a big, bad werewolf. Just like my daddy!" He gave a toothy grin at the thought.

Levi just looked over at Eren with a small smile on his face. "I'm sure you'll be the biggest, baddest wolf of them all." The raven encouraged.

"You also have a good chance of being a shifter like Aunty Carla!" Armin pitched in, looking up from his sand castle. Mikasa nodded in agreement.

"Whadda 'bout you guys? What are you gonna present as?" Eren asked curiously, swiveling in the swing slightly to face the other three.

"My mom is a werewolf and my papa is a Vampire. But my grandmama was a neko, and she said I might inherit that." Levi explained quietly to the trio.

"So that would explain the shortness..." Mikasa mumbled inaudibly into her scarf.

Eren's smile seemed to get brighter. "Levi! When we grow up, I'm gonna be a big strong alpha! And you can be my cute little neko omega, 'Kay!" He all but shouted excitedly.

Levi raised his eyebrow. That didn't sound too bad. "Okay, Eren."

Eren smiled and hopped off of his swing, running over to where Levi was sitting. "So it's decided!" He announced, gaining the attention of his 3 friends. "In 8 years from now, when we've presented, we'll come back to camp to meet up again!" He then proceeded to stick his hand in the raven's direction.

"'Ne, Levi, do you promise to come back here in 8 years for me?"

Levi pondered for a minute. He didn't see why not. He pinky sweared Eren. "I promise to come back for you in 8 years, Eren." Without warning, Eren launched himself at the smaller boy, knocking him backwards as he hugged him.

Mikasa rolled her eyes at the display of friendship she was witnessing, but still played a small smile on her lips. "C'mon guys, let's get going before we miss lunch."
