Dreams

Eyes closed, but he says he sees

A beauty drifting through his dream

She's graceful as an autumn breeze

Smiling at her stepping feet

She doesn't know

He loves her so

Or that there's reason why

But climbing hopes

Tell them they must

Meet after the night

After they wake,

Outside of dreams

Where he can love more consciously.

With wide arms and patient fingers

Sliding through her tangled tendrils

A smile so loving, the world is mangled

Melted, blurry, softly swimming

Sun rays shatt'ring tinted glass

Reminding lovers of a wish they breathed,

Living dreams,

And memories that last

Recent passed, but return with ease

Burning like a wick

Flames have teased

It would come

Their time, the sun

The minute when, the strings they spun

Hold earthquakes fast

And catch the bug

The perfect love.

More than fleeting battles

The war is won.
