Damien's POV

The word of the girl ripping metal from her tongue got around quick. The story changes greatly from what it originally was. Some said she ripped out her tongue. Some said she attacked Brandon and Aidan then cut out her tongue. Some said she ripped out her tongue and ate it.

Gross.

They're all idiots anyway.

The classroom was buzzing with excitement. The school festival was gonna start up in a few weeks and each class got to do an exhibit. Class B was filled with classmates excited to get started. I didn't have a lot friends so I mostly sat in my desk and listened to everyone talk. Its not like I really wanted to take part in the festival, I just was interested in what everyone's ideas were. Truth is, I didn't care if I did something in the festival, I just wanted some friends to talk to or go to the festival with or even take part in the festival! Really, I was lonely.

"Damien!" I hear a voice shout. I keep my gaze locked onto the ground. Probably and most definitely my imagination.

"Damien! Hey, Damien!"

Okay I heard it this time for real.

I look up.

Aidan is running up to me with a big smile on his face, Gwendolyn not far behind him.

"Uh, hi." I say. I had only talked to Aidan once or twice before. I had never spoken a word to Gwendolyn.

Aidan smiles again. "Do you wanna be in our group for the festival?"

"Huh?! Y-You have a group?" I immediately wanted to take back that stupid question, because, DUH?! Aidan is one of the most popular boys at our school! Of course he has a group, I just didn't think it would be with Gwendolyn! The schools one and only psychopath! But ever since Rose ripped metal from her tongue its become sort of a tie.

"Well of course I do!" Aidan chimed back at me. "And I'm asking if you want in!"

"Um. Yes! T-That would be nice."

"I also plan to have Rose Chudo join our group but she'll probably be in the hospital for awhile longer now."

"U-Uh, yeah." I say sheepishly.

Gwendolyn nudged Aidan and leaned over whispering in his ear but keeping her eyes locked on mine.

"I know, I know. I'll visit. Just quit nagging me!" Aidan grumbled.

They sounded like an old married couple. Except, they were terrifying.

Gwendolyn stared at me with an empty look in her orange eyes as Aidan rambled on about the festival. She never pulled her eyes off me.

Finally Aidan said: "God, are you even listening to me, Damien?

"Huh?" I said, breaking Gwendolyn and I's little staring contest and whipping my head over towards Aidan.

"Did you hear anything I just said?"

"F-Festival. Right?"

"Nice! You can make googly eyes at a pretty girl AND listen at the same time! Wow glad I picked you."

"W-What?! N-No that wasn't what was happening!"

"Really? That's strange, my bullshit meter is going crazy."

I reddened. "Bu- I-"

Aidan giggled. Sort of how a little girl would. "It's fine."

What was fine? I was so lost!

"Anyway, class is coming to an end. Do you wanna come over later to discuss plans?"

"Uh, sure."
