Moanna looked at me with a smile and began to slowly open it; and I mean slowly. She took forever. I gave a big sigh and grabbed the envelope right out of her hands.
"I can't take this any more. Gimme!" The orange envelope was torn to pieces.
As any other person, I found a few sheets of paper. There were a lot of words and I was not in the mood for reading. I scanned through the pages for a paragraph in bold. Alas, beheld the words i was looking forward to read.
I cleared my throat and read aloud.
" Iolani Alana, you are eligible for a lottery selection at our school, Stanford University. You and one other guest have also been selected to come and visit our school on May 31 from 1:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. For more information on the event please visit our website or contact us from the phone number in on the back."
Moanna looks at me with the biggest smile. She then explodes. "Oh. My. Gurd! Iolani, do you know what this means? You have a great chance of getting into the school. And we weren't only going to California for a tour, but we got invited into the school. And we can meet very important people! And we-" I cut Moanna off who looks like she's about to pass out.
"Calm down Moanna. Just because we've got invited doesn't mean that I'm in. Our flight is very soon so I suggest we need to leave as soon as possible.
