1:30 P.M.
On our way to to get our tickets, Moanna says to me,"Hopefully next time we'll leave the house a lot earlier like I planned and you won't be so boorish."
I turn my head facing her saying,"Will you just let it go already? Back at the house you said that you understand and all, and now you just want to push the blame on me." Moanna quickly apologizes,"Im sorry, Iolani. I didn't mean it like that. It was just something I said.' i turn away saying,"Yeah, yeah."
1:47 P.M.
A few minutes later, we pull up to a small building. There is a small sliding window like you'd see in McDonald's or Burger King but instead of getting food, you'd get tickets.
We get our tickets and leave.
Moanna and I head back home."I'm going to go take my shower. Then I'll come down to make breakfast," I say to Moanna dashing up the stairs. I felt Moanna looking at me as I leave saying, "I'll make breakfast. You go take your shower." I take a small pause then I continue. "Alright." I reply.
I was thinking she probably would be making breakfast instead of me, hoping it'd be tangible unlike what i tried to make. I tried to make toast and eggs but turned into smoke in seconds.
2:27 P.M.
A half an hour went by and i finally came out the shower. After putting on my clothes I came down stair hoping breakfast would be ready.
I look at Moanna and say, "The big move is just around the corner. Are you nervous?" Moanna doesn't look away from what she's doing and replies, "Considering we're only staying for the summer, not at all. Our summers here in Hawaii are only for 2-3 months, right? In Cali, who knows how many months they have for summer? I'd be worried if we'd be moving there permanently, but for this, naw." I grab a chair and sit down. "But what if we were moving? Just think about it. California has a lot of people, and a lot of people means a lot of friends, and-" Moanna cuts me off. " A lot of friends means a lot of broken relationships." I look up at her.
"Why do you have to be so negative?" I ask her. She doesn't look back. She replies, "I'm just being cautious. Iolani, I'm your best friend and I shouldn't be the only one looking out for the both of us. Your old enough to look out for yourself without making stupid decisions. Let me give you a word of advice: if you want some new friends, choose them wisely because you won't know who they really are until they turn on you. And you see, me? I'll never turn on you, and that's fact."
"So cheesy," I say laughing. "But very monumental."
Moanna finally turns to me and says, "Eggs-actly!" We both laugh.
3:00 P.M.
Moanna and I are watching TV in our bedroom. A commercial comes on. I turn to Moanna and ask, "So what day and at what time are we leaving for the big trip?" Moanna turns to me. She says, " We're actually leaving next Friday so i suggest you start packing now."
I raise an eyebrow. "I don't expect you to have everything packed already so you should be packing two." Moanna laughs. "I've packed my things last week. Iolani you've been busy for the past few weeks and you haven't been noticing anything. You didn't even notice that i rearranged our room. Or the fact I actually got these tickets for us. Or that I'm even coming on the trip." Moanna's voice has turned into something that was once happy but now very serious and angry. I lower my eyebrow. "Of course i noticed your coming and I believe i said that, many times-" Moanna cuts me off, "In your head. I can guarantee that you have yet to thank me to this very second for accompanying you on something very important to you. I could be else where doing-"
"Doing what Moanna?" Moanna suddenly un-knots her face and looks more relaxed. Moanna whispers to herself, "I don't know. But if i did know, I wouldn't be here."
I turn back to the TV. "Let's not get on a tangent here, and I apologize for all this rage. It was my fault." Moanna turn away in silence.
5:26 P.M.
I'm in my room when Moanna knocks and opens up the door. Moanna asks, "I'm heading out to go eat. You want anything?"
I remove my earbud from my ear and answer. "Um, can you go out to Panera Bread and get me a bacon turkey bravo on tomato basil sandwich, low-fat wild berry smoothie, tomato basil bread, and a Thai chopped chicken salad?"
Moanna looks at me." Do you have bacon turkey bravo on tomato basil sandwich, low-fat wild berry smoothie, tomato basil bread, and a Thai chopped chicken salad money?" We both start laughing.
Moanna says, "Just kidding. I'll be back in an hour. Anything else?"
I reply, "No, that's all. Thanks." Moanna responds, "Any time."
7:26 P.M.
Two hours pass buy and no Moanna. I begin to get hungry. Then I heard a knock on the front door. I looked out the window and see Moanna with an open trunk full of clothes, food, etc.
I walk down to the front door and open it. Moanna is standing there smiling back at me. She then says, "Don't just stand there. Help me!"
Within minutes, the living room was filled with clothes and suit cases. And the kitchen was filled with delicious foods.
I ask Moanna, "What's all this? And you were supposed to be here at 6 and its almost 7:30. Also i notice you've arrived with a plethora of clothes and food." Moanna starts looking through some of the food bags as she replies back laughing. "Will you calm down. Goodness, Iolani. This plethora," Moanna puts her hands in the air, supposedly air quoting a few of her words, "of goodies happen to be mostly for the trip. I would have told you that I was going to buy all these things before I left, but where the fun be in that. So, SURPRISE!"
I begin to laugh. I then say, "Thank you, Moanna. I kind of needed new clothes anyways."
