Prologue

"TAYLOR!" My boss, Michael Cole, called...but sometimes I hear people call him Chief. I cursed under my breath & turned around.

"Yes sir?" I answered with a smile, mentally rolling my eyes.

Word around the jail is that Officer Cole is into me. I've always noticed that he's been pushing up on me, but I never really thought anything of it. Besides, he's not even my type.

"You're looking very bloomy today." He smiled, standing super close I might add. I stepped back.

"Thank you." I smiled, then walked away. I swear this nigga is creepy as hell.

Other than that, my name is Dominique Taylor. I'm one of the first female security guards to ever work in the Queens County Jail. I love my job. I've always wanted to be a law enforcer ever since I was a little girl & my dad was accused of killing my "step mom". But in all reality, she cheated on my dad & walked out on us. I've never really liked her so I was hella glad when she left & my parents got back together....best damn day of my life!

Then the gates rang, pulling me back into present day.

"Against the wall, inmates!" Chief yelled as they all walked out of their cell.

They all stared at me. It's not like it's a new thing, I guess I'm the only women they get to see a few hours in their days. Then I heard Chief groan behind me. I turned towards him. He looked angry & his nose flared up.

"88, GET OUT HERE NOW!" He yelled. Moments passed, then this beautiful man came walking out of the cell. His cell number is 88, so that's why Chief called him that.

But he was beautiful from head to toe. His flawless caramel skin complexion, his beautifully sculpted face, his buff broad shoulders, his tight abdomen.....he was just beautiful all over. Once he noticed that I was staring, he smirked.

It's not like I've never seen him before, he just gets more beautiful every time I see him. Daniel Simmons was his names, but he'd prefer to be called Diggy.

But I still don't get it.....how can a man as flawlessly beautiful as him be a murderer?
