1. Scaredy Cat

Lucy POV:

I walked aimlessly through the the area Matsuko told me the wolves were seen the most. I hadn't caught sight of one, not even a clomp of fur or prints. Nothing. I was about to give up and go look elsewhere when I heard a loud growl. I looked all around, again nothing. I sighed and then it echoed through the air again. At this point I was a bit irritated, but you want to know something stupid, it was my stupid stomach growling to be fed. I gave in and went in search of some-kind of berry or eatable food. 

I found a rabbit, creek water, mountain blackberries, and green apples. It was at least enough to quiet down my stomach. I continued to seek out any evidence of wolves, I for too many times that day found absolutely nothing.

"I guess I just wait until dusk and the night to come, then maybe those stupid mutts will rear their furry faces." I told myself and sat down on a fallen log. I had nothing better to do so I let my mind wander to other places.

Lucy Age 8 POV:

"M-M-Mommy Y-you c-c-can't l-leave me I-I-I-I n-eed you." I sobbed into My Mothers cold, soft hand.

"I'm not leave Lucy,*Cough* I'm just moving on t-to the n-next *cough* c-chapt-er *cough* of my l-life, D-Darling *Cough continuously*." Mother said, stroking my hair lightly. 

I sobbed into her cold hand more. Then suddenly her hand went limp and she stopped stroking my hair. I opened my teary eyes and saw Mother's eyes shut and her skin looked less peach colored. More white. 

"Mom?" I questioned. "Mom!?"

MMMMMOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!! I screamed and shook Mom's shoulder and arm a little harder. No response. 

"NO MOM YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!"

"PLEASE I NEED YOU, I need you." I bawled, then Father came in.

Back To Current Lucy POV:

I came out of my daze when a loud howl pierced the cold night's air. I stood up immediately and whipped my eyes, wiping away the few arrogant tears. 

"Night View." I whispered, my eyes switched to that of an owl. 

I searched for the culprit of the howl, after the third check I caught the small indent of newly made paw prints. I nodded my head and ran in the direction that the prints lead. I came to a small forest clearing with a small lake, trees that seemed to serve as a fort or fence, and a medium sized rock-like cliff above. Two wolves were walking on their fours across the other side of the lake and there was a third above sitting on the rocky cliff thingy. Three wolves, one me, 64% chance of me leaving unstrapped. Sounds good enough to me. I took in all of my surroundings, coming up with a plan, then got ready to summon my angelic side.

"Summon: Wings" I chanted quietly. My back tingled and soon enough my wings were out and ready for battle. Now just one  more thing.

"Summon: Arkanoid." My golden battle weapon appeared in my right hand, glowing dimly. (The Above picture is Lucy's weapon) 

The wolves must have heard me, because the two across the lake were charging towards me and the third one was leaping down the side of the cliff. I used my wings to get four feet above them in the air and shouted my first attack.

"Light Sphere, I cleanse thee who walk in thee darkness, Arkanoid cleanse these lowly mutts!" 

Arkanoid glowed brightly and four lasers shot from the wing-like blades. The three wolves dropped dead and the fourth beam apparently shot a fourth wolf that was hiding in the cave part of the rocky cliff. I landed lightly back on my feet and sent Arkanoid back to where ever it belongs, but kept my wings out. That job was way too easy, I flew behind one of the cave building in River Rock and dismissed my wings into my shoulders and back. I collected my 800,000J and then wondered around the next town beside River Rock, since I had to wait for the train. It mean I could fly back, but then I would risk exposure from the Guild, Natsu, Happy, or anyone. And I can't possibly do such a reckless and selfish thing. Mom hid her true self for her entire life until she had me, but only because she had to teach me how my power worked. SO long story short its a bad idea and is easier to just ride the train. 

After The Long Train Ride and Lucy's Back In Magnolia  

Lucy POV:

I walked back to my apartment. My job request had taken only about thirty minutes, but between the two train rides, waiting for the wolves to show up, and now walking back to my apartment I had been gone three days almost four because its 2:31 in the morning. 

I walked up the stairs that led to my door and placed the key in the lock, the lock creaked and the door opened. I went into my kitchen and snatched a few snacks, ate them, and then decided that I needed a shower to relax and the fact that I hadn't taken one since I went on my mission. I grabbed my 'Happy' pajama top, my 'Pantherlily' face slippers and my 'Carla' pajama bottoms, then headed into the bathroom. 

I can't tell you how amazing a hot shower is after completing a job. I yawned and made sure that Natsu and Happy weren't here, then I switched off all the lights, turned on my 'Plue' nightlight, and got comfortable in my great comfy, fluffy bed. I was half way into Dreamland when I felt something soft tickle my back. I giggled and I admit, I kinda likes the softness it reminded me of Happy and the other Exceeds. I liked it. I was still giggling when a sick feeling rose in the pit of my stomach. I jumped out of my bed with lightning speed and screamed at the top of my lungs. My bed sheets moved all around in small circles then fell onto the floor with a soft thump. I screamed again and raced into my kitchen to grab a knife or scissors.(What the heck does she thing it is? A little dramatic Lucy, lol)  

I was standing up on one of my dinning room chairs holding a pair of children scissors waiting for the thing to show up. I stared around the room intently with my owl eyes, I was in too much of a hurry to turn the lights on. I heard the sound of pitter pattering across the east side of my house and took a quick breath and waited for it to reach me.  Finally there was a sound almost like claws on my granite kitchen flooring. I'm scared what could it be?!!!

"C-c-come o-o-out I-I-I-I-I-I k-know y-y-y-your t-t-there!" I shivered. A tiger colored cat with crimson eyes, wearing a red and black dress, and a red spiky bow, appeared from the darkness of the kitchen.

"Hello Mistress Lucy. It's so nice to finally meet you face to face." The cat bowed.

 I didn't know what to think, and at some point I fainted. Most likely from shock.
