Chapter 2
"So...What's the plan?" Ryan asked, hesitently.
Right now, I was telling Ryan about my plan while we sat in our favorite willow tree that was right in between Ryan and my house, and yes, we are neighbors.
"Well...I was thinking that, what would happen if I go disguised as a boy. I pretty much act like one already, and I just have to hide my face. I could where a hoodie and use the hood to shadow my face, and a mask to cover the bottom half so people would only be able to see my eyes. Know one would know I'm a girl. Besides, Saturday is tommorow."
He seemed to think about what I said for a while, seeing if it would work or not. After a few more minutes, he finally spoke up.
"Fine. I don't see any harm in trying, and besides, I have to go anyways so I could help you out. But here's some advice. Try to keep talking at a minimum and don't interact with people too much."
I stared at him for a while. "So...I can go?" I asked, hopefully.
He sighed and I think I heard him mutter a 'so clueless' under his breath. "Yes, you can go."
As soon as he says this, I threw my hands in the air as celebration. "YES!" I yelled happily.
As I do though, I end up loosing my balance and falling off the tree and landing on my back. The air knocked out of me. Being the awesome person that he is, Ryan starts laughing at me, causing him to fall off too. This time I laugh at him as he tries to catch his breath back. When he finally does, he burst out laughing again, causing me to laugh even harder. What a weirdo, he's laughing at himself.

After a few minutes, we finally catch our breath enough to talk.
"Come on Ash, lets get you ready for tommorow." Ryan says while getting up.
I follow suit and walk with him to my house to open the doors. As we enter, we are greeted by sience and darkness. My parents died when I was young so I live by myself. But Ryan and his parents treat me like family, so I never feel alone. My parents death is also the cause of me wanting to be a warrior. My dad was once the best warrior in the village and I was always a daddy's girl and looked up to him. Once he died, I decided to follow in his footsteps and my mom helped to incourage me, so once she died, I practiced everyday afterschool with Ryan to be the best. All I have to do now is become a warrior.

Once in my room, Ryan goes right down to business and starts searching my closet for an outfit that will make everyone believe I was a man.
After a while, he came out with a pair of brown shorts, a plain-grey t-shirt, and a black hoodie. He then produced out of his pocket, a black mask to cover the bottom half of my face, just like we agreed on.
"Okay. So, tommorow wear this outfit with your hair tyed and tucked into the sweatshirt so people can't see it. Wear the mask so that it covers your mouth and nose and then make sure that you have on your hood. Also, bring your sword and daggers that your father gave you so he could be there to help you out." He explained, saying the last part gently.
I nodded and did a mock salute. "Yes, sir!"
This got him to chuckle lightly. "Okay. The king told me that we should be there in the afternoon so meet me in 'the grounds' when your ready at about an hour before so we can make sure you are ready. Oh...and Ash! Make sure to get a good rest...and take a shower too." He said while holding his nose, pretending it stinked in here.
"Hey! I resent that!" I yelled, pointing a finger accusingly at him. "Now shoo!" I said, pushing him out the door.
"See you tommorow!"
"See ya!" I called back, getting ready for bed. I fell into a blissful sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
~*~*~*~*~
*"Mommy?" The liitle girl sobbed as she looked up to see her mom on the verge of death.
"Mommy! I can't lose you too!" She cried. She heard shifting and looked up to see her mom had moved so she could see her better.
"Don't cry sweetie." Her mom had a sad grin on her face as she went to hug her daughter.
"Don't worry. Just remember to carry on your dream, no matter what and do it for me too, not just daddy." Suddenly, the room was filled with a loud beeping and she knew her mom was now dead.
"MOMMY!" She cried.
The little girl then knew what she needed to do. She needed to fufill her dream for not only her father, but her mom too so they could both look down on her and be proud of her.*
~*~*~*~*~
I woke up to the sun shining threw my windows. Getting up, I got ready to take a shower. I was ready to do this, for my mom and dad.
After I finished showering and I brushed my teeth, I put on the outfit Ryan layed out for me yesterday. Then I blow-dried my hair, tyed it in a pony-tail, and tucked it in my shirt. Next, I put on the mask and the hood to cover my face. And now for the finishing touches.
I went in my closet and pulled out a woogen box. Inside were my dad's sword and daggers. I slipped the sword into my belt and put a dagger in each of my shoes. Finally, I pulled out the pocket knife from the box and put it in my pocket. This belonged to my mom when she used to help me train, but not even Ryan knew about this.
Before I left the house, I checked how I looked in the mirror. Damn! If I didn't know any better, I would have thought for sure I was a man. I looked a lot like the mysterious type, the type that stays hidden in the shadows.
With one last glance, I left the house on my way to 'the grounds'.
~*~*~*~*~
On my way to 'the grounds' I couldn't help but notice the longing looks I got by the girls I past. I even got ones from...'shivers'...old ladies.
When I finally reached 'the grounds', I fell to my knees and sighed with relief.
"Finally!" I yell as loud as I can. I hear laughter from behind me and quickly turn around. Standing there is Ryan in his armor, laughing so hard that tears come out of his eyes. "What's so funny?" I ask, playing inocent.
"Yo-ou!" He finally stutters out between laughter.
After a few minutes he finally sobers up. "Do you happen to have any dates for this weekend?" He asks, wiggling his eyebrows.
I groan. "You saw that?" I question.
He chuckles a little. "Ya. Who thought you'd be such a hot guy? I bet I can turn you into a hot chick next." He jokes. We laugh together. Ryan was always saying that I was hot and that all the guys look at me when I have my back at them. I never believed it, but I do now. I'm just glad they do it behind my back.
After a while, Ryan went over his own check list to see if I'm ready. Then we mounted our horses and got ready to go to the castle. Ryan knows the way sense he goes over there to train when he's not with me, so he obviously lead the way. Once we were ready, we left.
