Chapter 6

The guards lead us up to where the King and Prince Austin was.

When we reached, the guards let us go and the King talked first. "I knew it was you, Ashley."

"Sorry sir. Wait! What!?!" I asked in disbelief.

He chuckled. "Next time, don't wear shorts."

I looked down, embarassed. "Hey! Ryan, picked the outfit!" I exclaimed, pointing at Ryan.

Him and Ryan laughed, making me smile, but it soon dissapeared.

"Wait! Does that mean I can still be a warrior?" I asked him.

He smiled. "Yes. Why do you think I let you keep fighting? I knew you were training to be a warrior, so I let you stay to see how strong you were. Plus, I've decided that girls can become warriors and have already seen some fight, and I've already changed the law but don't worry, you're still the first."

I chuckled a little. "Thanks sir." I hugged him.

He laughed. "Anytime. Now, since you won, you have to wait here until it's time to make my announcement." He winked.

I wonder why...

Once everyone left, the King stood up and got ready to speak, his announcement I believe.

"Okay. Warriors! I would like to announce our newest team and the members. The warriors Ryan Fox, Nick Burn, Ashton Fields, Jeremy Rode, and Jared Deathgiver will be on this team. And Prince Austin James will be the leader."

I immediatly hugged Ryan. He laughed at my actions and hugged me back. I only looked back up when I heard the King talking again.

"Also on this team are our first ever female warriors. Rosella Marque, Taylor Rose, and Ashley Rainwater, the winner of the competition!" He belowed and the room was instantly filled with cheers.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two other girls walking. The other warriors I believe.

They walked up to me and smiled. I let go of Ryan and turned to them smiling back.

"Hi! I'm Rosella, but you can call me Rosy."One said. She had thick ebony curls cascading down her back in a silk waterfall, green eyes rimmed with blue and gold flecks at the center and has an average height with slightly tanned skin.

I turned to the girl next to her as she spoke.

"And I'm Taylor as you've probably already guessed." She said. She has long pure straight blonde hair that falls to her hips, blue/green eyes, and is very tall. If I hadn't known she was a warrior, I would have guessed she was an innocent teenage girl. Looks can be disceaving.

"I'm Ashley. Nice to meet you guys." I said.

We talked the whole time. After everyone left, leaving the members of the group, Ryan left to talk to all the other guys on the team and 'make an actual guy friend' as he put it. Me, Rosy, and Taylor talked after that and learned a lot of things about each other.

Apparantly, they are best friends and have known each other since pre-school. They have always wanted to do something no one else could so they decided to become warriors and started trainging in secret, just like me. They seemed like nice people and not those people who think their everything.

After a while of talking some more, the King brought everyone together to tell us more about our new group.

"Okay, everyone. This team is made of the best fighters in the kindom. This group will do all the quests that are most risky. Since this group is for such purposes, I ask that you guys come live in the castle here with Prince Austin. Don't worry though. Each of you will have your own room, you will just live in the same part of the castle and share the living rooms and kitchen. You will even get your own bathrooms." Wow! Not bad.

Everyone nodded in agreement and got up to go get the stuff that they needed. Tonight was going to be a long night.
