I was walking through the forest , the chill of the forest making me shiver. I couldn't use magic. I was alone. I could feel the wind blowing gently on my breached and beat up face.
I couldn't take it anymore. my nose was burning, I felt sick to my stomach and my legs were going numb. I fell to my knees. I couldn't move my limbs. I could barely let out a whimper. Then like a small, cold waterfall, a tear ran down my cheek.
I'd been traveling for two days. I'd tried to get a ride from some passing carriages, but they never stopped. I'd tired myself out. My limbs had no energy left. The last thing my mother had said to me before I left the village was " If you're ever in trouble smash the orb on the ground as hard as you can." that and good luck.
I had it in my backpack, so I couldn't reach it. There I was, no energy, close to death and failing to save my village from starvation and poverty. I went unconscious. I woke up to four people searching me for gold coins or any other values I had. "Hey! Get off!" I barked at them barely able to say anything. " Fat chance kid. unless you got somethin' to fight with yer valuables are ours." one of the thieves slyly said. And he was right. There was nothing I could do.
I felt thoughts flood my mind. Then all those thoughts seem to just disappear. The four thieves started walking away slowly and cautiously. The only thing they didn't take was the orb. Which was strange as it was the most valuable thing I had.I was wondering why they hadn't taken it. Then I heard a growl, and all was clear to me. The wolves.
The wolves didn't seem to pay any attention to me. Which was also strange. They started to slowly walking towards the four thieves. They kept backing up, keeping a safe distance. The wolves seemed to turn into blurs and suddenly appear on the thieves.
There were few types of wolves that had various different powers, a species called ' Talius Wolves'. Usually not found in the over world unless they're hunted and captured. They were usually used as attack dogs or show off dogs. There was no sure way to know what power they had unless they used it.
These ones looked like wind talius wolves. I just hoped they didn't want another meal after the thieves. Sometimes I wish I just stood aside and let who ever was a hero around save the day. Yet this time I felt like I needed to become a hero. Like I could dive into a bush close by then pop out in some sort of costume.
But this was reality. There were no heroes when ever you wanted one or needed one. This was a world were it's survival of the fittest. And the second I stepped out of that village I entered battle grounds unprepared.
