Chapter Four

Dark Pit walked down the long hall in Viridi's temple, twirling his sliver bow between his fingers listening to the birds' singing echo throughout the temple. It was very calming, actually. Viridi went out with Phosphora doing girly goddess things so Dark Pit was in charge of guard duty.

Dark Pit sighed out of boredom wishing someone would show up. Well, his wish was granted.

"Hey there Dark Pit." Dark Pit jumped at the sudden voice losing control of the silver bow he was spinning and it imbedded itself in the wall. Dark Pit whipped around and was met with those red and black eyes again.

"Alex!? You gave me a damn heart attack... What are you doing here?" Dark Pit asked taking a step back.

"Well...tomorrow I'm taking Pit to the UnderWorld. He's not dead yet, I had a little chat with him and it ended with me taking him down there for a bit. Not the monster infested place. The residential area where other demons reside, it's better than you think! Wanna come?" Alex explained.

Dark Pit stared at her then growled. "Fine. I'll go. But only to make sure Pit doesn't get himself into something stupid. And don't think I'll let my guard down for one second. Try anything and-"

"Yeah yeah whatever. I'm not doing anything like that. Its just a friendly tour! Chill your shit, 'kay?" Alex said and flew off.

Dark Pit pulled his bow from the wall and stared at the small sliver of his reflection. "This is probably a bad idea..." he muttered.

~Back at Palutena's Temple~

Pit opened his door after dressing in his normal clothes and found Palutena in the main hall. "Morning Lady Palutena! Got any missions for me today?" Pit asked.

"Acctually I don't. Alex and the UnderWorld have been quiet today. But I suspect they're planning something...be ready for anything." Palutena responded.

Pit nodded assuming it was because of their visit to the UnderWorld tomorrow. He still couldn't believe he was going but, why not? He'll bring his bow and be prepared for anything.

"Pit?" Palutena said for the fourth time. Pit shook his head. "S-sorry Lady Palutena. Just thinking." Pit said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Really? About what?" Palutena asked.

"Nothing. Its nothing..." Pit said smiling and dashing back to his bedroom.

Pit sighed and flopped on his bed starting to feel guilty. I've lied to Lady Palutena... I feel so bad! Maybe I should just tell her the truth and stay here tomorrow... Pit sat up with a groan, conflicted on what to do. Tell Lady Palutena....or keep it secret...

'Oh please. You need to be more independent, Pit. Grow up.'

"What are you doing? Are you in my head now?!" Pit asked.

"Shh! You don't need to yell." Alex said. "Look. Palutena doesn't need to know everything you do. You can do things yourself. Just be in your room at noon tomorrow. Dark Pit is coming too, by the way."

"Really? Cool! See Ya then." Pit said feeling less guilty. "Also...um... why are you being so nice to me all the sudden..?" Pit asked.

"Well, I don't want to be a typical villain in a story that's hell-bent on killing someone. Ya know? I'd rather spice it up a little." Alex said. "Don't worry, next time your in the UnderWorld you'll be dead."

"O...Kay..." Pit said.

"Later!" Alex said and Pit was by himself with his thoughts again.

"What now..." Pit mumbled. Pit stood up and left his bedroom and went outside the temple. Pit wandered to the temple gardens checking out the flowers and other plants, just trying to pass the time. Pit spent about an hour and a half in the huge garden.

Pit noticed some storm clouds forming overhead and decided it would be best to go inside. It was getting cold anyways.

He walked the paths and bridges that led back to the main island and opened the doors that went inside. As soon as he closed the door He heard thunder and saw a flash of lightning. Pit went to his room and stared out the window at the lightning storm.

~Viridi's Temple~

Dark Pit sat on the bed in his room covered in blankets and his hands over his ears. The sudden storm quickly drove him to his bedroom. He never knew why but thunder and other noises of the sort freaked him out.

Another crash of thunder sounded outside. Dark Pit flinched and began shivering.

"Aw, is little ol' Dark Pitty scared of thunder~?" Alex cooed mockingly.

Dark Pit growled and uncovered his head. "What do you want now?"

Alex snickered. "Oh nothing. I just saw you run away like a scared rabbit when the storm kicked up and I was just coming in to check on you." She said, tugging on Dark Pit's ear.

"Please. I'm not scared of any-" Dark Pit was interrupted by another blast of thunder. Dark Pit jumped and covered his head with his hands with his eyes closed and shivered.

"Aw, poor Ptooey. It's just a bit of noise." Alex said patting his head.

Dark Pit glared at her. "Don't call me That." He growled and swiped at her hand.

"Lighten up." Alex muttered.

Dark Pit glared at her. "Whatever. Just leave me be. I'll get enough of you tomorrow." He muttered.

"Ow, my feelings!" Alex said with puppy dog eyes. Dark Pit rolled his eyes. Alex huffed.

"Fine. I'll leave. See ya tomorrow, Ptooey." Alex said and flew out the window.

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" Dark Pit called after her then yelped at another blast of thunder.

Dark Pit hissed in annoyance at the storm. Hopefully it's over soon... he thought to himself and crawled under the blankets again.

"DARK PIT!! I'M BAAACK!!!" Viridi yelled from the main hall of the Temple. Dark Pit huffed and left his room to find Viridi.

"Aw you look stressed, Dark Pit. What's the matter?" Phosphora asked when he approached them.

"Nothing." Dark Pit muttered. A blast of thunder sounded outside once again and Dark Pit flinched.
"Did you just flinch?" Viridi asked, not used to seeing that from him.

"No." Dark Pit said turning his head.

Viridi chuckled. "Okay, Pittoo." Dark Pit growled.

"Whatever...I'll be in my room..." Dark Pit turned around and left Viridi and Phosphora in the main hall.

Dark Pit curled up in his bed and closed his eyes, letting the calm darkness and silence of sleep consume him...
