Jenna and Chris (the classic gooey couple), James and Rachel (my cousins), and I went to a hotel together to go on a vacation. We were walking down the sidewalk that leads up to the building when I got the feeling that I was being stalked. I turned around to see a creature of some sort staring me right in the eyes, with a hungry look in its face. Monsters followed us in and we ran down the hall, but Jenna had already disappeared, leaving behind a cloud of glittery powder. When we were in the room, we set our stuff out on our beds. Afterwards, Rachel and James left to find Jenna, leaving me with Chris and what we had.

I put my hands on Chris' shoulders and told him everything's gonna be okay. There was a knock at the door. I grabbed a dagger and looked through the peep hole. It's the monster, so I turned around and ran back to the beds.

Chris, loud as ever, asked who it was. I told him to shut up. I pulled a machete from my duffle bag and a shotgun and told him to grab whatever he could use in defense best. I also grabbed my daggers and put them in my boots. I quietly stalked to the door, ripped it open, and swung the machete in an arc, but there was nothing there to hit. Confused, I turned around, and there Jenna was with her glitter powder, about to blow some on the ever-unsuspecting Chris. I pulled him back just in time. I grabbed his hand and whispered 'Run.'

We ran down the hall and all the way down the stairs to the main floor, where we found James and Rachel cornered behind more monsters. HERE USE THIS I shouted to them. I tossed my shotgun and the machete. They caught them and got quick to work. But the shotgun shells and the slashes from the machete didn't seem to work. I saw some glitter powder and didn't hesitate, no matter how crazy I my idea was. I stabbed one monster in between the eyes and then blew some powder in the wound. Did the same with the other.

They both exploded into the glittery powder. "Their own creation is their demise!" I said, then laughed. Too soon, it seems. I looked up to see Jenna about to powder Chris. CHRIS BEHIND YOU I shouted. Without hesitation, he lunged for a handful of powder from the floor then swung the sword he'd grabbed as hard as he could into the left side of her neck. He wedged the blade in her neck, almost decapitating her. He then blew the powder into her gash and waited for the effects. She slowly gave in, but you could tell in her eyes, she was salty that she got found out.

She poofed into whatever that glitter powder really was, and I hugged Chris, I was so relieved that the idiot was okay. Turns out, he was better than fine. It was me that wasn't okay. I felt a slight twitch in my gut. When I looked down, I saw the sword's tip in the space right above my hip bone. Painfully, I looked up at Chris' face. I then knew that he in fact was one of them.

I was in a trance, too surprised to act on what I'd discovered. He pushed the sword further into my hip and I howled from the torture. James and Rachel were too far away to save me at the rate I was bleeding out. But as it turns out, they wouldn't need to save me. I saw a glint of metal, heard the faint whistle of a blade through the air, saw glitter powder, then nothing but a strange face fading into darkness. I could still feel and hear what was going on but I couldn't see. I heard the rip of my old shorts, and I was thankful I was wearing a swimsuit underneath. Then, the blade was tearing at my skin in return of being pulled out of my hip.

I screamed in agony, but no sound came out of my mouth. I couldn't move any of my limbs. Paralysis. I was in one of the few things that absolutely terrified me down to my bones, and I couldn't do anything about it. Couldn't speak, couldn't kick my feet, couldn't even twitch. I felt someone pick me up, and carry me somewhere. I think James and Rachel followed, but I couldn't be sure.  I didn't find out because I soon lost consciousness.
