The alarm buzzed as I was about to reach my fourth hour of sleep. I knew I had to set my alarm atleast thirty minutes early before I can actually get up. This is usually the time when I regret not getting enough sleep, but then repeating the same damn thing over again. So I got out of bed lazily and immediatley felt for my phone.

Notifications filled my phone and I always give time for my social networks before I get through each day.

I boarded the car and jammed to Paramore as I was heading for school. I've always admired Hayley Williams, she was an icon for girls who didn't have to be prim and proper to look bomb.

I was late. I caught up with a few of my girls cause they seemed to be late as well and we all had to suffer from standing in line to receive tardy slips.

"Morning Nelle" Bree asked. Bree was new in our school, she had me when she showcased her talent in playing the guitar, the beatbox and the drums. Bree was a girl who possesed a personality that is favored by many. Although now, one thing was for sure, that she was inlove with Cris.

"I swear I'm getting suspended soon if I constantly wake up this late" I stressed on every word.

As we got to class, our Science teacher had already started his lecture so we immediatley took our seats. I quickly looked around the room to look for my other girls and mentally checked each one.

Mary always came to school early. Mary is an amazing singer who happens to be known in our school since she has always been requested to perform in numerous events.

I spotted Cris and Drew were on their phones. They've always been close and have always had each other since then, but not romantically. Funny how they were the worst enemies before who turned out to be the best of friends now.

Savannah, a simple girl who possessed great charm that even I cannot resist. Savannah had a good heart for everyone. She too had a warm personality that will make you feel comfortable with her easily. Savannah values other people's feelings too much regardless of her own.

Ana on the other hand, was who I was closest to among the six of them. Ana and I go way back when things weren't as complicated as how they are now. Ana has always been that sister that I've always wanted to have. Ana was always sensible and she happens to be a very selfless person as well.

As two periods passed, we had a thirty minute break which we usually allot for our jam sessions. Bree on the beat, while Ana, Savannah, Mary and I worked on harmony. We managed to jam to atleast 5 songs before people started coming.

"Miss Rafa is on her way!" a classmate of mine loudly said. We quickly gathered our things and went back to our seats as fast as we could. Miss Rafa was a kind class adviser, she always taught us to make wise choices in life and be mindful of our actions.

As she entered, she quickly locked the door behind her. It was a ritual that she would often do since she didn't like interruptions and moreover she wanted students to learn to come on time. "As you all know, our annual promenade is fast approaching and I will be posting the details soon." She was always formal when she announced memos. "Let us honor the dress code where we refrain from wearing clothes that will look too revealing or too provocative. I assume that you are all aware of how revealing is 'too' revealing. I look forward to a perfect attendance. Thank you."

Everyone exchanged looks and started fussing as soon as Miss Rafa left. Most went over about what color looks good on them, what style and more importantly, who they'll give their first dance to.

Meanwhile, I spotted the girls at the corner and it seemed like there was something wrong.

"I'm not paying $64 dollars for a prom, I'd rather buy tons of fine ass food and watch tons of movies all day" Mary stressed on.

"Count me in, I won't pay for shit just to dine and dress up all frilly for anyone, I'm good with netflix and chill man." Savannah added. So did Cris and Bree, who definitely didn't want to get involved with any of it.

"Then that leaves me and Ana optionless." I sighed. We had to go since our parents insisted. I've experienced prom already due to my previous school, it was alright and I guess I'm already satisfied just so I'll have something to remember as.

"I haven't been to one and you know how much I've always imagined it to be" Ana said reassuringly.

"Well even if I didn't want to go, I don't have much options. My mom expects me to send her photos to include in her memoirs." I said lazily. "But for Ana, I'll feel a tinge of excitement, I mean it's only one night right?"
